This is a hard one. This place has a great location. It's a few minutes away from the Chitwan National park.
The place is done nicely. It's one of the better properties in the vicinity.
The rooms are large and that always helps. However, this place now needs some love and attention and some renovation. The mattresses are now a bit saggy, the ACs can be a bit wonky, everything that the hotel can fix and they respond immediately.
The bathrooms are nice and clean. Some signs of damage can be seen, but generally ok.
Our package had all meals included and the team really took care of us. The food was very nice and the staff was very helpful. It's the staff that just makes the place.
The place also organised a Safari for us. We took a half day Safari and my sense is that is a mistake. We should have taken a full day safari. We were taken around only in the buffer zone and the sightings were scarce. Also our spotter/ guide seemed to be either inexperienced or uninterested or pre-occupied with taking pictures of some birds. I did not walk out without an impression of the fact that a different person would have helped. Big cats are hard to spot, but we did not manage to see either elephants or rhinos. Chitwan is famous for Rhino sightings.
So combined with the short duration and an inexperienced spotter, the Safari became a bumpy ride though the park. My recommendation is to opt for a full day Safari.
Overall, as you can see that I am conflicted. The staff just makes up for a lot. We did enjoy our stay and that is important. There were clear misses too. So...
Read moreA beautiful hotel surrounded by a serene dense national park. The hotel is on a huge property with a lot of greenery and all the necessary amenities including an expansive restaurant and a pool. The theme of the place leans into the whole nature theme making the stay a pleasant experience if you are someone who loves nature like us. Unfortunately I was sick almost all of the time i was there, but the staff of the hotel made me feel like I was at home. The restaurant staff continuously enquired about my health and were willing to provide anything and everything I needed, going so far as to even suggest taking me to a nearby clinic. One of the best experiences I have ever had at a hotel, the staff were extremely welcoming, complementing the beautiful setting of the property. We had also gone on a safari via the hotel and despite not seeing the fabled one horned rhino or the tigers, we did see a lot of other animals such as elephants, deers and exotic birds. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, helping us at every avenue on our 5 hour safari. The gharial breeding camp, elephant breeding camp, canoe ride and the daily native dance held at the hotel are all activities i would definitely recommend, and I would suggest that you book all of them through the hotel's travel desk and not an external travel agent as the hotels prices and staff are unbeatable, and they don't compromise on safety. All in all, if you ever visit chitwan, Landmark is by far the...
Read moreAn interesting place to be in with international facilities. Just outside the Resort Campus, there's an open space inviting various species of animals from a herd of deers to wild elephant ronaldo to couple of mating cheetah's and many more species of birds. You occasionally get a view of the tiger too if you are lucky.
The interiors of the rooms are spacious and cosy for all weather conditions with an comfortable pool too for swimming laps. The lobby is quite inviting with the entrance passage leading to the dining area and Bar, comfortable enough to accomodate about 100 guests. Rooms have a different view depending upon the location and situated at a distance from the main area as well as some in the main areas. They also have Nepali local performers giving their best in the evening and an interesting intro to the culture. A place to visit and stay for sure and enjoy the experience with...
