I recently had the pleasure of dining at an India Street Food & Co. restaurant, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel like I was transported to the bustling streets of India.
The variety of street food options on the menu was extensive, and it was difficult to choose just a few items. However, I decided to try the Street Veg Bowl, Pani Puri, Paneer Tikka Roll, and Veg Fried Rice, and I was not disappointed.
First, let's talk about the Street Veg Bowl. The combination of fresh vegetables, aromatic spices, and tangy chutneys was a true delight for the taste buds. The flavors were well-balanced, and each bite was packed with a burst of authentic Indian street food taste. The portion size was generous, and it left me feeling satisfied and content.
Next up was the Pani Puri, a popular Indian snack that never fails to impress. The crispy puris filled with a tangy tamarind water and a mix of mashed potatoes, chickpeas, and spices were absolutely divine. The combination of textures and flavors was incredible, and I couldn't help but indulge in a second round of this addictive snack.
The Paneer Tikka Roll was a true highlight of the meal. The succulent paneer marinated in aromatic spices and grilled to perfection was wrapped in a soft and fluffy roti. The combination of the tender paneer, crunchy veggies, and tangy sauces created a mouthwatering medley of flavors that I couldn't get enough of. It was a perfect balance of spiciness and richness, and I highly recommend trying it.
To round off my meal, I opted for the Veg Fried Rice. The rice was cooked to perfection and stir-fried with an assortment of fresh vegetables. The flavors were well-balanced, and each bite was a delightful combination of textures. It served as a comforting and satisfying complement to the other dishes I tried.
Overall, my experience at the India Street Food restaurant was exceptional. The quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the authentic flavors made it a memorable dining experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance added to the overall charm of the place. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Indian street food, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. You won't be...
Read moreThe best Indian Street food in Amsterdam! Hands down! If you find me a better Indian street food place, I will pay for your dinner.
Location & Ambience (4/5): The only catch here is that it is located in the southern part of Amstelveen. This can seem quite far for a good portion of people in Amsterdam. However, I would strongly recommend making the trip here, it is more than worth the travel. The ambience is fantastic. Love all the little additions to the the interiors like the Auto and the old school mailbox. These additions help bring out a unique experience.
Food & Drink: (5/5) Love love love the food here! The street food here is even better than some of the places I have eaten at in India. (1) Pani poori is so good. Absolutely loved the presentation and the flavours. All spot on. (2) The samosa chat was also really well made. The samosa had a good flavour and paired well with the chat and the combination of the textures and flavours made it lovely. (3) The paneer Khati roll was also really well made, the paneer was soft and the marinate ensured that the flavours got to all the parts of the roll. (4) The pav bhaji was a tad on the spicier side, but all in all it was really good. (5) The veg khati roll was not as good as the paneer one. So recommend getting the paneer one instead. (6) the Masala chai was also quite good. Might need a little more of the masala as the tea flavour was a tad overpowering.
Having said that, this place is fabulous. I went here twice in less than a week and I’m probably going to go again soon. It is a must visit for anything who wants to try real Indian street food.
Service: (5/5) Some of the best service in town. We had Manya, Praniti, Jagrati and Swara make our experience great. They were all super friendly and provided some great recommendations. Loved that they were still smiling wide even at 8pm! Great work guys and keep it up.
Summary: (5/5) It’s a place worth 6 stars! Looking for authentic Indian street food, fantastic service and fun interiors! Then look no further.
A massive thanks to my Dutch friend who introduced me...
Read moreWe visited over the weekend and it was one of our worst experiences at this restaurant(?/eatery!?). It wasn't our first visit but it would definitely be the last. I understand it is difficult to manage the crowd in the weekend but there shouldn't be double standards. I visited with my wife and 3yo kid. The staffs were busy at tables where there were more guests and never bothered to look at smaller tables.
First of all, our table wasn't even wiped off after the previous guests left. After making multiple requests and not being bothered, my wife took the wipes and cleaned up the spilled over food herself.
We were there with a toddler who was hungry. We ordered masala corn and requested (thrice) to bring it on priority and non-spicy. But that was the laaaast one to arrive at our table after 1+ hour, with fully loaded spices. When we reminded them that we requested without the spice sprinkle, the staff took it back and brought a new one in 5 mins but this time just plain corn. No toppings absolutely.
The other food was pav bhaji. While eating it, my wife noticed a hair in the pav. She broke it into pieces and found one more hair in the same pav. We immediately informed the staff named NEHA, she just said 'oh acha!' and took the plate back to the kitchen. No other action. Not even an apology or even a courtesy to ask if everything was ok.
The fried rice was pathetic too. Nothing seemed fresh. The whole experience at this place spoiled the tone of the entire weekend. Please look after the quality of food and service because we are not paying any less for the food. It is quite expensive for what arrives on our table. These little things matters more than asking your guests for good reviews in Google. I request the management to please train your staffs to be more professional and less rude to...
