Izakaya Tanuki Amstelveen — Restaurant in Amstelveen

I visited here myself alone in lunch time to see if it’s a good place so that I can bring my friends/boyfriend/family in another time. It was a frustration. Person who was facing customers in the entrance was barely communicating. Not a simple hello/welcome, not a welcoming face. He showed me a corner table and I squeezed there. He brought the menu card, with a cold and distant manner took my order. I observed his behavior with other people who were in groups and he was completely different, warm, communicating. Then I thought a single woman coming for lunch is not perceived ok here. Also chefs in the kitchen were staring at me time to time as if it was a very weird thing to come to a restaurant alone. Anyways, never again there and unfortunately they lost me as a customer who is a truly Asian cuisine lover and who was going to bring many more...

Salmon sushi roll with avocado and fresh fish egg in the middle taste just like cotton candy melting in you mouth This sushi roll is so good made me almost ate every piece from the big plate ! Strongly recommend it! Teriyaki chicken steak has a crunchy skin and tender meat at the other side , it was so popular for everyone at the table. Sashimi is very freshly prepared same like in Japan. There are many choice for meat on the stick for roast, it is a good snack with chilled beer in Asian. U can have chicken breast marinated, with onion, bacon, crispy wing, ox tongue, chicken gizzard... if u are not that hungry, u May order some small dish from the appetizer to go with the Asaki bear from Japan to taste the typical island flavor . Roast macro is a little burned, missing the tempuras this time which is one of my favorite dishes from...

We arrived at 14:45 in a Friday afternoon and there was no living soul there, okay, the restaurant closes at 16:00, but there still plenty of time for a lunch. When we get inside, the waiter chose a small table and it was 4 people, including my baby with a car seat, when I refused the table and asked for a bigger one, the gentleman said that they close at 16:00. We’ll, of course, I saw online the working hours, what does it have to do with the table I sit??? In other words, terrible service, the food was okay, nothing special, but we were already upset with the way the waiter treated us, so we never enjoyed and left at 15:30. During our stay more people entered in the restaurant, I wonder how they were treated… I’m surely not...
