I live in Amsterdam city center and have a lot of great food choices in the neighborhood but one of my expat friends from New York City told me about one of the best Asian fusion restaurants he’s ever been to, and it was in Amsterdam North, a short walk off the ferry. I checked it out last night and had a great meal with my wife (she’s vegetarian and can be picky). Super friendly staff, which is not always easy to find in Amsterdam. Really cool bar scene and I could tell there were a ton of locals/regulars. Also, best bar seating design I’ve ever seen; not your standard side by side. Definitely will be going back, and make sure to save room for the cheesecake and macaroon ice cream sandwich (photo attached)!

Very pretty venue located in NDSM. Food is delicious and served in beautiful (but quite small) portions. The service is very nice and friendly but on my opinion too strict with their rules. At 1230 I have tried to ordered a pancake but they deny it because this dish belongs to the breakfast menu which stops to be served at 12. I have to say that this is very normal for the Dutch mentality but honestly after many years living in this country I still cannot get used to this attitude. I liked Freddy's Bar. Nevertheless I came here on a Sunday hoping to enjoy a nice brunch but unfortunately it was too late to order breakfast and the lunch was not matching my expectations for a Sunday lunch.

The ice tea had no flavour, as if you drank all your tea and refilled the cup with water. Sushi was good, but the wasabi had no flavor and too little ginger and wasabi. We also had karaage chicken, way too greasy, as if I bit into a piece of oil, felt kinda nauseous after. The bao buns looked amazing but it didn’t have any flavor to it at all, which was disappointing. We ordered another dish but it never arrived even though it wasn’t busy at all, total of 5 tables. Beautiful sunset though on the terrace. But definitely overpriced and not worth the money.

What we experienced here made us think that this happened because we are foreigners :( We came here and said that we wanted to sit inside, a waiter showed us the table next to the wall at the very end of the restaurant saying that this was the only seat that we can prefer because all of the other tables had reservations. We didn't like the seat at all but we had no choice. But after that we saw that the other people who came after us, were given the seats next to the window in the front by another waiter, even though they didn't have a reservation. This really upset us. It was bad that the waiter lied to our faces. We couldn't enjoy our food also we couldn't think of any other reason other than discrimination :( Normally I won't write a comment but this made me sick to my stomach. Maybe this was about that particular waiter not about to place I really don't know but I hope no one finds themselves in such...

We visited this place twice one year ago and it was delicious with amazing and friendly service. We were looking forward to go back but this time it was a severe disappointment. Service. I don’t know who was the guy working on 28-06 but he was an example of high level arrogance. He literally ignored anything we asked. If it wouldn’t be for a nice friendly girl who took care of us we would leave. Food was mediocre and literally it doesn’t cost the taste and presentation. Sushi quite below average for the price, edamame below standard, bulgogi dry and barely has Korean taste to it. Gyoza was still very good. It was very hot and they did not even bother to open the umbrellas All in all we will not come back. It is a pity such a wonderful delicious place turned into arrogant questionable meal...
