Let me be honest and break this down:
Starter (€19,75 for 2 people) Disappointing. The plate was small and definitely not worth the price. Only thing I genuinely liked were the empanadas. The jerk chicken? Mid. I’ve had way better. And the bacalao croquettes were flavorless.
My main Visually, it looked great… but the taste didn’t match the hype. I got oxtail and was really looking forward to it, but it was mostly just fat, barely any meat. Flavour was okay, but not memorable. I didn’t even finish my plate. Also tasted the fish and it was overcooked dry.
Pricing The portions didn’t match the prices. For what we paid, I expected to leave full, maybe even grab dessert. But no. I didn’t even want to order an extra drink. It just wasn’t giving. 6.5/10 for the food at most.
The drink Highlight of the night. Honestly, the drink was the best part of my entire experience.
Ambiance Sorry but… not it. The vibe felt off. Honestly didn’t feel Caribbean at all. It felt commercial, kinda soulless. Not a single Caribbean person working there either. And yes, when I go to a Caribbean spot, I’m looking for more than just food. I want vibes, warmth,...

If you're in Amsterdam and craving authentic Caribbean flavor, do yourself a favor and make a reservation — the place fills up fast. We were lucky enough to score a last-minute walk-in for two! We ordered the jerk chicken, oxtail stew, and sweet plantains — every bite was full of rich, bold flavor and cooked to perfection. The jerk had just the right kick, and the oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender. To end on a sweet note, we shared the lemon meringue dessert — light, tangy, and delicious. A perfect finish to an unforgettable meal. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you're looking to taste the Caribbean in Amsterdam.

Read moreFantastic experience, went in last night after reading the great reviews and when we got there, we weren't sure how suitable it would be for our 2 year old as it is kind of small and we weren't sure if it was the kind of place to bring a kid. Couldnt have been more wrong, from the moment we got there, they couldnt be more accomodating. Spotting she may be restless, they gave her toys to play with to keep her amused and then seeing at one point she was looking for food, one of the waitresses brought her out some rice and plantain (unprompted) to keep her going until our meals were ready. The food came out and it was absolutely fantastic. I had the jerk chicken and my partner had the beef stew and both of us couldn't finish them quick enough. Being made to feel welcome and treated so well in a city where people sometimes lack basic manners was great and made the relatively long distance we travelled just to eat there was worth it. Will be back next time...
