Na veel te hebben gehoord over de inventieve vegan gerechten die dit restaurant aanbiedt ben ik gisteren avond eindelijk eens langs geweest bij de bites bar samen met mijn verloofde.

Al met al was er heel veel waar ik blij mee was, zoals de oester, de gefrituurde olijven en de kombucha waren allen heerlijk. Helaas waren er ook wel een paar flinke minpunten, welke ik ook heb doorgegeven aan de bediening toen ze vroeg of alles naar wens was, dit werd aangehoord maar verder niet echt iets mee gedaan (naar mijn idee) dus vandaar dat ik nog eens mijn verhaal op deze manier deel.

Dit doe ik omdat ik verbaasd ben omdat er zoveel dat op de kaart staat echt heel smaakvol is, en de gerechten die dat niet waren vielen daarom extra erg op.

Als eerste de Risotto Arancino, de gefrituurde bol risotto.. De risotto was erg droog en had weinig smaak, was enkel een beetje pittig,Ik maak zelf met gemak lekkerder, ik vraag me af of deze al iets te lang geleden gemaakt was of de kruiden niet goed gemengd. Het kleine beetje tomatensaus (dat wel goed gekruid was) kon dit gerecht nog nét redden, maar het had ongetwijfeld beter gekund.

Als tweede, de pasta met frittata van seizoensgroenten.. Deze had mijn verloofde (helaas) besteld en hebben we niet opgegeten. Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat dit is hoe deze door de chefkok bedoeld is.

De smaak was naast de leuke pastasoort enkel olie en zout. We hoopten om de seizoensgroenten te proeven, en gaven dit enorm tegenvallende gerechten ook aan bij serveerster. Hierop werd aangegeven dat de groentes klein zijn gesneden in een Frittata, en dat het daarom zo smaakt, en dat we het niet hoeven op te eten.

Hebben we verder ook niet gedaan, helaas wel volle pond voor betaald. Tja, er zaten in de zoute & olieachtige pasta een paar stukjes groente dus we hebben dus gekregen wat we hadden besteld. verder is er niet echt een tegemoetkoming gedaan of passend antwoord uit de keuken gekomen.

Ik denk nu dat we doordat we best laat kwamen eten, het een restje was van de frittata prep , er niet veel groentes meer inzaten en het is opgeleukt door er extra croutons, zout en olie aan te voegen.. Nogmaals, dit kon niet zijn hoe het gerecht was bedoeld, maar met de feedback werd ook niet echt wat gedaan.

Als laatste, was ik als toetje benieuwd naar de Mocktails, er waren er 2 mogelijk van de lijst 'seizoensgebonden' en we probeerden beiden, degene met walnoot en appel had een unieke verfijnde smaak, leefde op naar wat ik verwacht als ik een drankje bestel van 10+ euro.

De Isabel madrugal viel helaas ook tegen, het enige wat er echt uitkwam qua smaak waren de aalbessen. De gerookte agave of mais of muntsmaak kwamen allemaal niet door. De serveerster toen ze vroeg hoe ze smaakten vertelde dat dit kwam doordat het moeilijker is met de alcoholvrije variant deze smaken te laten harmoniseren. Maar, misschien moet het gewoon niet als Mocktail worden aangeboden als het recept nog niet op maat is?

Op alle punten is er nog wel te verbeteren dus, de smaak van de gerechten die wel bevielen, maakt dat het nog wel een geslaagde avond was, maar voor de prijs we we voor twee personen betaald hebben, vind ik dat niet genoeg voor 5 of zelfs 4 sterren.

De bediening is vlot, snel, maar zoals al eerder opgemerkt een beetje koeltjes. Sfeer is niet optimaal, er hing een blauwe kaas geur toen we binnenkwamen, de entree is niet heel duidelijk aangegeven. Niet heel smaakvol ingericht per sé. Duidelijk ook nog een work in progress.

Ik zie grote potentie voor dit restaurant en kom graag nog eens terug, dat ik wat kritisch ben is juist omdat geloof dat wat hier wordt aangeboden en wat er wel goed gaat grote potentie heeft om de plantaardige keuken stevig op de kaart te zetten als ooit ook een 100% plantaardig Michelin restaurant in...

The tasting menus at the Konijnvervoer is a great show of vegan fine dining. The biggest surprise was the Gnocchi, the aromatics are unexpected but wonderful. Really sends chills down your spine. The king oyster scallops were able to capture the subtle mushroom flavor just so, enjoyed it quite a bit. The risotto was a good balance to the strong flavor of the mushroom yakitori.

I'm a fan of the "mozzarella" made from cashews and the other pickles in it. But would have preferred to own it on its own instead of trying to compare to non-vegan mozzarella.

The polenta with pumpkin was good. But was difficult to find how they combined. Leaves you wishing the polenta was sweeter or milder, or the pumpkin and quinoa supporting it better.

The dessert had new flavors for me, purple sweet potato icecream with bitter chocolate is a great combination in your mouth! But the pastry itself was crumbly, and my partner's was overdone (even somewhat burnt).

Overall each dish was a great surprise and improved on top of the last up...

As a non-vegan I came to this restaurant with no expectations. We went to celebrate our son's graduation and what a celebration it turned out to be. The food was sublime, the atmosphere delightful and the staff attentive. Essentially Italian in style the tasting platters featured oyster mushrooms masquerading as oysters, spring rolls filled with scamorza that wasn't, roasted nuts of various types, cauliflower rocks deep fried and flavoured with soya sauce were just three of the glorious offerings on these plates. Our main courses featured tortellini stuffed with that amazing non-scamorza, pasta with brocollini with salsicia which you would be hard to distinguish from the real sausage, the most outrageous spaghetti carbonara - no idea how they did it! Everything was fresh and flavoursome - not a grey lentil or chewy piece of tofu in sight. Demian and his team in the kitchen are true magicians. Splendid experience in their antipasti bar. Friendly staff and a delicious sharing menu. We went for an assortment of sides and starters which I would highly recommend. The first floor is a great antipasti bar while at the ground floor is a fine-dining location in an old vault. Highly recommend the sides (menu is changing with the season) but we had delicious Spitskol and roasted pumpkin with vegan whipped ricotta. Almost everything is made in house or locally sourced (including the homemade kombuchas).

No pain in choosing. I went for the pasta with ricotta and aubergine, and it was delightful. I also ordered a cold latte and it was very good. I need to come back to their 7 course meal. I only wish the waitress had more help, because she had to be running around a lot.

The first floor is a great antipasti bar while at the ground floor is a fine-dining location in an old vault. What a great restaurant. I'm vegan,and so it's always nice when I don't have to worry if everything in the menu is vegan. Then they give us explicit, delicious sounding, limited options for a pasta. No pain in choosing. I went for the pasta with ricotta and aubergine, and it was delightful. I also ordered a cold latte and it was very good. I need to come back to their 7 course meal. I only wish the waitress had more help, because she had to be running around a lot.
