We went there for the Sunday Chicken and Rib lunch special. On Sundays from 11:30 to 5:00 you can get a barbecued chicken thigh and ribs, with coleslaw and fried rice and a piece of corn on the cob for less than $11. The lunch special is to go. When you arrive go inside and pay for your lunch and then come back outside and stand on line. Dependent on the time that you go there probably will be a line. The two women working the assembly line move rather quickly. All of the plates are the same. The only option you have is to not add barbecue sauce. The food was rather tasty. I wish I had more coleslaw. The coleslaw was very good but there was just a little of it. The corn on the cob was good but it was a very small piece. Plenty of chicken. The thigh is cut into pieces and the barbecue ribs are cut into small pieces. This lunch is a great value. The lunch special is designed to take away. If you want to eat it inside the restaurant you can get it but you have to order it in the restaurant and you pay a little extra because you're having table service. You cannot buy the lunch outside and take it into the restaurant. They do not deliver. They have a regular takeout menu what you can order and pick up. They have a full service traditional Chinese menu also to eat in the dining room or to take out. We came by taxi and we had the restaurant called a taxi for us when we were ready to leave. I definitely will go again. It is a...
Read moreThe food was ok the service was average but lengthy. However we ran into something we hadn’t run into before. What with the service charge that was like 18% of my bill. So I politely asked the staff member helping us so this is your tip included, as I’m paying the bill. Well the server explained this is water and other things the restaurant provides but it is not my tip. Shame on you we are here for a good part of the year and now we won’t be returning to your restaurant. According to how your salary works you and your workers do share that as a tip it does not go to the restaurant owners. If it was exceptional service you leave another 5% at most on top is customary. This it was not and I left you a healthy normal tip on top bc of the way you explained that it did not go to you. We aren’t here to be ripped off, we are here to add to your economy as tourist and visiting homeowners in your country. And I will make sure to tell all my new neighbors these details. We won’t make this mistake again. So thank you server. Enjoy your just under twenty Florian’s it will be the last of mine...
Read moreThis place deserves a shout out for delivering authentic/near authentic chinese food on an island.
I'm Chinese and have eaten at more Chinatown/Chinese restaurants than I can count and I was NOT expecting to find solid chinese food on Aruba of all places.
Are the flavors perfect and exactly on point? Not but pretty close. Their beef lo mein was more flavorful and generous in ingredients than most takeout places you find in the US. Their bok choy with garlic was delicious and fresh even though I assume it had to be imported. Their Mapo Tofu was quite a different take than what I've ever eaten (a lot) but in its own right flavorful. Hot and Sour soup also a different flavor profile but I enjoyed it.
In terms of actual quality of food, maybe a 4/5 is more fair but for simply delivering better chinese food than a random restaurant on an island has any right to do, I'm slapping a 5/5 to this.
Service was efficient, prices reasonable, interior spacious and clean enough though I did takeout. Easy...
