My husband and I went there today for a late breakfast/early lunch. It was busy but there were a few open tables. The waitstaff seated us quickly with a pleasant greeting. My husband ordered an bacon and cheese omelet with toast. Real butter a black current jam csme with the toast. He was impressed with all of it but particularly with the perfectly cooked crisp bacon. His latte was delightful. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich with hard boiled eggs, tomato, lettuce and cucumber on a whole grain mini baguette. The ingredients were wonderfully fresh and the bread had so many toasted seeds on it that it had a delightful nutty flavor. My favorite part of the meal was the fresh squeezed lemonade. It was actually lime but I like that even better. The drink had the pulp of the fruit in it and was perfectly sweetened. I think it was the best that I have ever had. The staff all have tshirts that remind you to have no stress because you are on Bonaire, but they really hussled. They were efficient and friendly. We can't wait to return here the sample either beautiful desserts and...
Read moreWe were visiting the island on a cruise ship and we found this restaurant to have good reviews on Google so we visited. When we walked in my dress was a little damp from earlier in the day and it was taking forever to dry. My swimsuit under it however was completely dry. The second we walked in I got confronted with several servers and the hostess about my dress being wet and that I could sit outside if I was wet. After being in the sun for hours I did not want to sit outside so they told me that if I got their seat wet (it was plush, not vinyl or plastic) that they were going to charge me a fee! I almost left but was too hungry to go elsewhere so I just agreed and sat down. That experience was very off putting. I have never experienced such an unwelcoming visit in a restaurant in my life. BUT the food was absolutely delicious. Hands down, the food is worth the hostile environment. The waitress was very kind from that point out. It cost us $120 for 5 people. Each sandwich was around $20 but honestly it was worth it with the...
Read moreA favorite topside discovery during my recent third trip to the beguiling island of Bonaire. B2B is a true european style cafe, and seems to attract an international clientele in addition to a loyal local following. The interior of B2B is homey and pleasant, even as it bustles with a steady flow of table-seated and take-out customers. Service is crisp but not pushy. I tried the scampis roomsauce, a cafe sandwich of large cooked shrimp served cool with a creamy seasoned dressing on a crunchy whole wheat roll. Mild yet flavorful, it was a great choice for a hot day in between dives. I also enjoyed the Cannibal, a raw beef salad sandwich, as well as the chicken salad version a great deal. The warm 'Amsterdam' sandwich was tasty but the goat cheese, bacon, and honey made for a rich midday meal. B2B also offers excellent espresso drinks and a superb selection of desserts in the cold case. The only dessert I tried was the tiramisu, but let me tell ya, it knocked my dive...
