Rum Runners — Restaurant in Bonaire

Never again.

I have never felt inclined to write a bad review, and am usually extremely understanding when it comes to training new staff, but tonight was inexcusable. Dinner reservations for 7:30. The only thing anyone at the restaurant was attentive to, was refilling our water. Having had a table of four sat behind us, 30 - 45 minutes after us (who were also absolutely loud and insufferable , with nothing but complaints about not only the menu, but the entire island), we were already anxious to get our food and enjoy the rest of our final night on the island. Despite having the same waitress, that table received not only two (apparently awful by their loud comments) appetizers, but also all four of their main dishes before we were ever even acknowledged about ours. At 9:30, with no apologies or even offers for additional drinks during our wait, we felt we had no option but to leave, as we were also not willing to suffer through the conversation of the table who arrived and ordered well after us (let alone having waited to almost two hours after arriving). We spent our final night on the island suffering through loud and unpleasant conversations, and not having a meal at all. By the time we had left, there were no other options available to us even if we wanted to go elsewhere. We've had bad service here several times over the years, but continued to return as the food was decent and the views were great. I have never felt the need to leave a negative review until this experience.

I would have loved to have left a review on the food, but I never did get my Ribeye steak. I hope the food was good for the table behind us who were prioritized though, because they will surely be talking about it everywhere they go for the rest of their stay...

Acute food poisoning lovers, read below :) Below average restaurant with okay views. But I have never in my life been as sick as this, eating at rum runners made sure I was up all night with severe acute food poisoning.

(perhaps a bit graphic, sorry) After the dinner, it took about 1 hour to feel a little stomach ache, then after 4 hours everything came out. I hoped I was done, just throwing up and that's it. But no, I puked another 5 times that night and had severe diahhrea. Sitting on the toilet with a bucket between your knees really makes you look at things from a different perspective. I was up all night, and the 4 days after I was very sick and dehydrated.

The restaurant manager is a terrible human being. When confronting the restaurant they wanted us to have a free breakfast, sure, but no thanks I will never eat there again. Apart from that we also had included breakfast in our own hotel. When I said to the manager that we already have breakfast, she said, 'Okay then we cannot do anything for you, so you can leave now'. After a lot of calls, not being answered, not being able to speak to the owner (which is probably also a terrible human being), I was so sick and fed up with this place that I just left it. We got the money back for just my dish (21.50 dollars).

Never have I ever had such a bad experience. Please do not eat here and do not...

NEVER AGAIN!!! We made reservations to eat here. When reaching the restaurant they had no table for us. They gave our table away to a group right in front our nose. Too bad for us, we had to wait. When we finally got a table, we had to wait for them to take our orders. They started with drinks. The cocktails took too long to reach our tables, so the ice was all melted. Some waiter brought the cocktails. Without even saying HELLO, he blurted out "WHAT DID YOU ORDER?!

After a while they took the orders. We decided to only order main courses, cause we've been sitting here for 45 minutes already with infants. After almost an hour the food came. The calamari tasted ok, but it missed the crunch 6u The pizza was cold (taste was ok) The burgers had some salt on certain parts of it. Both burgers came with French fries. We ordered one with sweat potato fries. The ribeye was chewey The baby back ribs were not that tender The paella was decent The shrimps and noodles was too salty.

The location is amazing, but the toilets don't smell fresh (although they look clean). I guess the people come to this place for the view and some of the waiters are very nice.

The highlight of my evening was LEAVING! BTW when leaving the waitress told us that maybe tonight was not our night. So 0...
