3.5/5 — Don’t get me wrong, the food was fantastic. Garlic bread was delicious, pizza was phenomenal, and they make a mean tiramisu. However, the service drops it 1.5 points. We had made a reservation and were sat quickly, but then waited quite some time and watched a couple walk in with no reservation (as far as I could tell, could be wrong) and be greeted by a waiter before us (I believe it was our same waiter). Their food also arrived before ours. Speaking of which, the food was made at a pretty reasonable speed but it took a while to get menus and order, and from then onwards we didn’t see our server much (besides when we asked for another beer and she came back with a salt shaker). She seemed nice but perhaps not the most experienced, although it’s likely the aforementioned mixup was just due to a language barrier. Plus, other people gave positive reviews for the service, so I’m doing a 4 and not a 3 overall. As a side note, we were placed directly in front of the stairs and had to move our tables so we wouldn’t block the entrance + get jostled by those coming and going. Nice...
Read moreNice vibe in general - the lighting, music, and beachside setting. Otherwise, this restaurant is clearly unable to handle the basic elements of serving a busy restaurant. They even got the tap water wrong - we asked multiple times and it never came. The drink order was also wrong. The pizza was a solid 6 out of 10 and probably because I was starving. And the salad in the order never showed up. The staff, though somewhat friendly, were generally indifferent and again, barely able to handle the business. The men’s washroom had no soap or paper towels two nights in a row (we were in the sister restaurant the evening before). If you come here, just be prepared to relax and expect practically no service. This is a restaurant that survives on tourism, not pride of running a proper dining...
Read moreI ate tonight at Tomatoes. The pizza was incredibly expensive for what you get. The sauce on the pizza is practically not existing and the dough is more like a cracker than a pizza. We were served by two different waiters, the first one, a young blond Dutch girl, very nice and smiley. The second one, a blond thin man on his fourties’, probably the manager of the place, he was rude and really didn’t transmit a nice vibe to the place. After paying he did not even say bye or smile at us. Certain restaurants would be much better without certain persons around. Definitely not...
