Stadsbrouwerij Eindhoven is a delightful craft brewpub, perhaps one of the most prolific in the Netherlands. They have about 14 house beers on tap, and another couple dozens available in bottles. It is a tremendous offering of variety, a beer lover's paradise. Thankfully they serve by the glass or smaller taster sizes so you can try a greater variety. These range from light and refreshing to heavy and intense. My favorites were their 400 Volt RIS (10% abv) and 3rd Anniversary DIPA (9%). The brewery was founded in 2014, and is located opposite their tasting room. They occupy part of a 2-story brick building with an industrial design. Outside along the street sidewalk is a long row of wooden tables overlooking a culvert stream. Their brewery is on the left, visible through a large doorway. Inside are brewing supplies and in the back are racks of barrels. The name of the brewpub is 100 Watt Cafe and there is a theme of electricity related names. The brewery's logo is a cityscape silhouette, which has been extended into a "100" logo inside a lightbulb for the cafe. The glassware, sampler trays and coasters all incorporate this lightbulb logo. As you enter the building from the street, their cafe / bar tasting room is on the right. It has a 12-chair wooden bar overlooking their glassware and stainless steel tap towers. Behind the bar the the left is a large window to their kitchen. Their delicious food menu consists of well prepared appetizers, salads, gourmet burgers, and specialty dishes of fish and meats. The place seems quite popular for dinner and drinks. Past the bar are high top tables, half-booth seating and dining tables. Pop background music competes with many happy conversations. The place has a high white ceiling and an interesting variety of lighting, creating a modern yet cozy ambience. The walls are decorated with chalkboards with various drawings. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I thought they did a good job. I would definitely recommend a visit (or more) to enjoy their great variety of beer and food. It will...
Read moreMediocre beer at best. Great location and friendly staff. But you need more than that at a brewery.
We ordered a flight plus one. Meaning we tried 5 beers. Beers we had. 400 volt. This beer had a very off-putting finish it started good and had great nose and color but the finish was just off. Not sure what the flavor was but it was medicine tasting.
Allure it's a pale ale that just misses the mark in my opinion. It had a grainy flavor.
Circus citrus. This was a pretty good beer and had great citrus flavor.
It wasn't bad but it missed the style in my mind and was kinda flat.
15 volt. This was a pretty good beer, especially for the style. I was impressed with this one.
I updated this review because the establishment questions the bears I had in their reply that they have since deleted. I'm not a beer expert by any means but I have tried and sampled over 2500 beers all over the world. And my opinion still stands. This is a mediocre brewery. Made famous because they are a big fish in a small pond. But I think everyone should try it out and for those...
Read moreThe beer selection is nothing short of impressive. Their own beers catter for all tastes (particularly if you are in “support the locals” mode), and on top of that they also have a large selection of other national, regional, and international ones. The food is quite good too. I’ve been there for two specifically remarkable events: a beer tasting with colleagues and a my daughter’s birthday. The beer tasting was really fun, with actually appropriate matching of beers to snacks/food (in the sense that you coul feel that they were really complementary). The birthday took place with ~15 people in the room across the entrance and both the service and catering was truly satisfactory. All staff were really nice to us and our guests, and were really quick with bringing us orders. Overall, definitely a place worth stopping by if visiting Eindhoven (much more recomendable than “generic” restaurants/bars in the city...
