I seldom go to the same place twice when I am visiting a city but this place deserved that extra trip for sure! The food was simply lip-smacking, authentic and always served by a smiling and polite staff. The chef Devendra went out of his way to make us dishes to suit our tastebuds and what he created transported us on our travels around India. On our first visit, we tried the Karimeen Polichettu ( Spice marinated Pomfret wrapped in banana leaf & steamed; it is a dish that comes from Kerala, India), the Aloo tikki chaat ( a Bombay speciality ) and the Dum Chicken biryani. As someone that is always worried about the spice levels when it comes to Indian food, I was assured that they would make the dish tasty without the extra pungency. The fish was as good as I remember from a visit to Kerala. It had the right amount of marinade without overpowering the taste of the fish. The biryani was a masterclass in styling as well as taste. Truly every bite was sheer bliss and I could have gladly had another serving! The beautifully crisp Aloo Tikki was again a winner. The sauce was sublime with just the right hints of spices. We liked that so much we ordered it a second time on our next visit the following day. The chef also made us a Bombay Special Prawns Koliwada. If you like Prawns and you like kebabs, this is a beautiful combination of those without overpowering spices. We also had a Goan fish curry with steamed rice. Again, a specialty by the chef and highly recommended if you like a mix of sour and spice in a soothing coconut curry. Again, my husband and I truly enjoyed the dish. What differentiates this place from other establishments is the staff. They go above and beyond to make you something that you will enjoy. They take the time to ask you your preferences. The serving staff as well as the kitchen staff deserve all the credit for our wonderful experience. I highly recommend you book before-hand if you intend visiting over the weekend. They are new but they are extremely popular (no surprise there). We felt very pampered and I hope you will have the...
Read moreHad dinner here, after trying it by ordering in via uber eats, and honestly blown away by how good everything was! Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it happen.
The interior is really stunning - they've got this artistic vibe going with beautiful lighting and wall art that makes the whole place feel special without being pretentious.
Now onto the food - we went a bit overboard with ordering but zero regrets. Started with the Chicken 65 which was absolutely perfect. Crispy coating, juicy inside, and the spice level was just right. Love that they serve it on banana leaves with fresh red onions - a nice authentic touch.
The Chicken Vindaloo was incredible. I've had vindaloo at plenty of places but this one really stood out. The sauce had this amazing depth and complexity, proper tangy heat that builds up nicely. You can tell they don't cut corners with the spices here. Had to keep going back for more even though we were getting full.
Chilli Paneer was another winner - the Indo-Chinese fusion thing can be hit or miss but they nailed it. Paneer was perfectly cooked (not rubbery at all) and the sauce had just enough kick without overpowering the dish. Great balance of flavors.
Really surprised by how much we loved the Palong Dhanar Kofta. Usually skeptical of veggie dishes but these spinach and paneer dumplings in gravy were creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. Ended up being one of the highlights of the meal.
We also got three different naans - Achari, Garlic, and Mint. All were fresh and warm, perfect for mopping up all those delicious sauces. The garlic one especially was loaded with flavor.
Service was really good throughout. Staff was genuinely friendly and helpful with recommendations, not just going through the motions. You can tell they actually care about the food they're serving.
Price wise I think is totally reasonable given the quality and portions. This isn't cheap eats but you definitely get what you pay for.
Will absolutely be back soon. Already thinking about what to...
Read moreToday, we celebrated the long-awaited 1st birthday party of my son. It was planned 1.5 months in advance, and my wife and I wanted everything to be perfect. It was a 6 course fine Indian Lunch. Looking back, we couldn’t have wished for anything better than choosing Dhol and Soul and here’s why:
Ownership: At most restaurants, you’ll often see the manager or executive chef leading from the front, while the rest of the team simply follows instructions. But at our event, it was different the key people were fully involved behind the scenes, ensuring every dish and detail was perfect. Meanwhile, the Level 1 staff took complete ownership of service and guest care, and they absolutely nailed it. It was a full house with 50 adults and 24 kids, yet every guest felt personally attended to. The entire Dhol and Soul team acted as one showing a rare sense of commitment and pride that’s hard to find in any business.
Food and Presentation: Every dish served was a hit from the starters to the desserts, the flavors were fresh, authentic, and beautifully balanced. You could taste the effort and heart behind each item. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the food! The presentation was elegant yet simple, and the 6 course was managed flawlessly despite the crowd. Nothing delayed pure professionalism.
Ambience and Experience: The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, perfectly matching the joyous vibe of a 1st birthday celebration. The staff kept smiling throughout, engaging warmly with both adults and kids. Small details like maintaining cleanliness, refilling starters and checking guest comfort made a huge difference.
Gratitude: A special thanks to the Dhol and Soul team for their hard work, ownership, and genuine passion. You turned our special day into a memory we’ll cherish forever. We walked in as customers but left feeling like family.
Final Verdict: If you’re planning a celebration, big or small, Dhol and Soul should be at the top of your list. Exceptional food, flawless service, and a team that...
