Hotel La Reine — Hotel in Eindhoven

What we loved:||* Location: Best possible location to explore the city||* Staff: Every staff member we encountered was polite, professional, friendly and helpful||* Decor: Hotel is cosy, has minimalist but modern design, looks very nice for a 3* venue||* Cleanliness: Everything was spotless||* Comfort: Soft comfy beds and lots of storage and surface space in the room||* Price: Very reasonably priced for the quality and location, compared to other options||||||What could be improved:||* When we checked-in there was no soap in any of the dispensers and it only got replenished after several days once we asked for it directly.||* Pillows are ridiculously thick, like sofa cushions. Got a neck cramp and headache from first night so opted to sleep on a rolled-up towel instead for the remainder of the stay.||* Bathroom layout is not great - toilet is behind a glass door just a meter from the bed, so it doesn't leave much privacy or sound insulation. Shower floods the toilet area no matter how hard you try to avoid it, leaving a puddle right in front of the toilet. ||* Noise: Hotel is sound-insulated, but there was a lot of plumbing noise coming from the pipes in the bathroom at all hours - banging, hissing, screeching etc, like sleeping next to a loud fridge or boiler. The door between the lift and the floor, as well as other room doors make the room shake when they get shut, and we were unfortunate to have neighbours who were slamming doors relentlessly till 2am on our last night.||* Some basic tea facilities in the room would be very useful.||||Summary: Great hotel at a reasonable price with friendly staff and nice amenities. Really nice stay. They were super helpfull in everything. We stayed for 3 Nights and they even kept our bags for a few extra hours. My boyfriend is quite tall and he didn’t fit the bed quite well (1,85m) so he did say the bed and pillow were not the best fit for him. As for me I have no complaints, the room was cold but temperature is adjustable, a lot of light during the day and big thick curtains for the night so no light entered. Very clean and comfy. Complete silence during the night and that I appreciate a lot...Shower was good, bathroom overall pretty good. Amazing location and good room for the price and acrually super easy to park around the hotel. They even wished me a happy birthday with a super cute note and balloon. If I visit Eindhoven another time i might stay there again.

In Eindhoven in general: count with 3,5€ per day per person for the tourist tax. The parkings for a full day (24h) are between 6 to 9€, and 1,80€ per hour close to the hotel on the street. It’s in the center with coffeplaces and...

My review isn't a reflection on hotel staff, but more on the hotel itself. PROS:

1. very good location, close to the central train station, shopping areas and restaurants.
2. The receptionists are helpful and nice. CONS:
3. There is not a comfortable lobby to sit and relax. It is too small and compact. The reception is only open from 13:00 to 22:00.
4. The rooms only have the absolute essentials such as bed and shower. There is no telephone, cups/glasses, or any other thing that is nice to have in a hotel room. So a long-term stay (longer than one night) is a bit uncomfortable, unless you come here fully equipped yourself.
5. Most importantly, if cleanliness is important to you, then you might want to look elsewhere. But again, the cleanliness issue is more because the furniture are too old and the bed mattresses have pee stains, etc. But the sheets and toilets are clean.
