Wonderful experience. We were walking through Eindhoven, not looking for a place to eat, but once we passed this restaurant it feld really cosy, warm and inviting, making us decide not to cook tonight and eat here. This was a really good choice!
Everything in the restaurant shows that the owners are proud and -I believe- love their job. The decorations are very well maintained and not too much, everything is clean, silverware well polished, a fresh flower on each table, some easy going authentic (I think) Turkish music, and the waiter (I supose owner in our case) was very calm and friendly.
The food was great; explicit in taste, freshness of the fish (I went for the tuna steak), and again decoration (I was considering uploading my pictures, but the pictures which are already uploaded are well representing my experience).

Read moreI will start by saying the starter was delicious. However, with only 4 other tables occupied on the evening I was there (3 couples and a table of five) I still don’t understand why it took at least 45 minutes to receive my starter after ordering? (mussel dish from the oven) – Then it was another hour long wait after that for my main course, by which time there was only one other table occupied. Service was that slow I considered walking out on several occasions… the waiting staff (2 lads) came across inexperienced, and it was only when I finally left after paying the bill that I noticed the kitchen seems to be enclosed in a small broom cupboard under the staircase of the next door neighbours house! This probably explains the very long waits for all their guests? Good food but the waiting times put a damper on the whole experience. Not...
Read moreWe spent 3 hours there and it was a pure joy! Adapting classical Turkish dishes to Western European cuisine really works in Ege Restaurant; serving traditional dishes with a modern twist is a smart culinary move. We, a group of 4 containing passionate meat-lovers and a vegetarian, were definitely satisfied. Everything we had was tasty, mezzes were fresh and beautifully presented. For raki lovers, I have to say that you’ll never be out of cold water/ice cubes. Staff and Cemil Abi (the owner) were super friendly. You’ll find not just cozy but also authentic ambient there. Regarding melodies of Ege, if you be a nice kid, one day you can see the smurfs and hear some nice tunes, uniting Anatolian and Byzantine cultures as well. We’ll surely spend more nights there. So if you intend to join us, you better make a...
