Dear Eindhoven, there is a new taco king & queen in town. Great tex mex food. Great service and staff. Opening day was very fun! I have high hopes for Nico's that they are successful and continue to grow in their international endeavor.
We had the rolled tacos since they were on special. Rolled taco's are a very simple dish. I recommend getting guacamole and cheese with them as they may seem underwhelming on their own (the nature of the dish). The normal taco's were great! A very reasonable price for the two filled taco's you get. Last but not least, actual fresh tortilla chips! I think the only place serving fresh chips is Arizona tex mex. I hope the Netherlands catches on to having fresh chips instead of the stale corn excuse served in stores and many restaurants.
If we had to make one critique, it's for Nico's to evaluate the vegetarian taco. There's a lot of options besides potatoes for the tacos. More veggies (more pico de gallo for example) in the taco would also be welcome. They were tasty, but I have faith they could really make something more amazing out of them.
I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu, especially the breakfast burrito. Something that's missing...
Read moreI came here after all the publicity and word-of-mouth, and I must say, friendliness of the staff is definitely a 100/10 ⭐️ Because they are super kind and friendly. 🙏🏻
Food-wise I must say, there must be a clear distinction between Mexican and Tex-Mex. Since people kept claiming this was authentic Mexican, I came with my hopes up.
It’s Tex-Mex style, with “okay” flavor for our taste. The drinks were delicious, but very pricey. Almost 4 euros for a glass of agua de Jamaica, which is half filled with ice. It was heat wave so I had to order 2 glasses.
The food is priced fairly, with a good price/ quantity ratio. Our “Mexican tacos” were fried so all the flavor of the meat went away and the carne asada felt more like wood, that’s how hard it got from the frying. The beans were bland, the salsas were nice. The rice was disappointing.
I saw them microwaving my rice and beans, which I didn’t mind. But the rice was not fresh, definitely old rice, but I was so hungry I ate everything.
Would I come here again? No 👎🏻
Will I recommend to people to try it? 🤷🏻♀️ 👍🏻 Yeah sure, because we all have different standards...
Read moreI heard this was the best Mexican food in the Netherlands so I traveled from Rotterdam to try it. Originally I am from San Diego, California so it was over 10 months since I had really good mexican food so I had to see if people were right. To get to the restaurant it is about a 15 minute walk from Eindhoven Centraal station. The employee was very helpful and chill. My friends and I ordered a ton of food. I got the three Rolled Tacos with rice and beans, my friend got a Chimichanga with a side of fries, my other friend got two tacos with rice and beans, my girlfriend got a Carne Asada burrito and we all shared chicken nachos. The first thing that come to mind was the beans, incredible and didn't taste like any of the canned stuff you find here. Tasted like home. Everything was well seasoned and tasted very close to what I would get in the states. It was so good we ordered the California Burrito, Green Chili Pork Burrito, rice and beans to go so we could eat the next day. If I lived in Eindhoven I would go here...
