Zab Zab — Restaurant in Eindhoven

Thai restaurant with a really clean and beautiful interior. The restaurant has lots of seating available and feels spacious, clean and tidy. First impressions are really good. The service is quick and correct. The food is delicious too, but not 100% real Thai. You notice some European influences in the food, but that's something unavoidable. As a starter we got the plate with mixed starters. Good if you are undeceive and don't know what to choose. As main we got the ped zabzab and the Kaeng khiao wan kai. Both do taste good and with the fried noodles and rice, a good combination. I never saw grapes in Thai dishes before, but it did taste good in combination with the duck filet. Afgelopen zaterdag zijn we daar gaan eten. Op een Aziatisch stel na waren we de enige mensen in het restaurant. Uitgestorven. We hadden voorgerechten, soep en hoofdgerechten besteld. We zijn echter na de voorgerechten al opgestapt.

We hadden de voorgerechten mix genomen, om van alles een beetje te proeven. Het enige wat nog enigszins okay was waren de mini loempia's. De rest was ongelofelijk slecht bereid. Krokante garnalen waren niet krokant, de viskoekjes waren zo vet dat het er letterlijk vanaf droop als je er in kneep. De kipsaté was als rubber.

We hebben over een hapje van genomen maar het was echt niet goed. Het zag er ook uit alsof het meeste gewoon ingevroren massaproductie spul was. En zo smaakte het ook. Maar dan ook nog eens slecht bereid.

We hebben na het voorgerecht meteen de ober erbij geroepen en gezegd dat we op basis van onze ervaring met het voorgerecht de rest niet meer hoeven. Hij reageerde goed. We hoefde maar 1 voorgerecht af te rekenen en de drankjes die we hadden gedronken.

Maar we gaan daar zeker niet...
