Het Paradijs — Restaurant in Enschede

The atmosphere and the decorations are fabulous. The staff are very friendly. However, these are the only good things I can tell about this restaurant. First of all, we waited around 30 min to get our drinks. We waited, around 40 min to get the starter and another 30 min for the main dish...Too slow. Also, the starter came with a small fork with no knife or napkin. It was very hard to eat that way. There is no menu on the tables but a standard menu including starters, main courses, and desserts on the wall. Very little choices! Only 2 desserts, 2 starters and 3 main dishes. Most importantly, all have weird ingredients that not too many people enjoy (wasabi? sage?) Sage and fruit in a dough with a salty yoghurt on top was very weird taste, couldn't eat it. Also, the falafel was tasteless and dry. The salad was okay, also the muffin was edible. But overall, we did not like the taste of any of them. 2 people with starter and main dish, we paid 60 euros. The concept and the idea is amazing. Atmosphere is unique.

I'm not a vegan fan and I would often choose a steak, but this place is good and deserves five stars. A must try place if you are in the area, even for a short period stay and not a resident.

The menu doesn't have many choices, but this is good and correct because they use seasonal products and try to focus their kitchen on few recipes.

Been there more than once and will for sure come back.

During my last visit the eggplant hamburger was really good; fries instead were not the best because a little mushy rather than crunchy as one would expect.

Het Paradies in Enschede – Ein echtes kulinarisches Highlight

Wir waren heute im Het Paradies in Enschede und sind absolut begeistert von unserem Besuch. Dieses Restaurant vereint Geschmack, Qualität und Kreativität auf eine Weise, die uns nachhaltig beeindruckt hat.

Zu den Getränken: Obwohl ich ursprünglich etwas anderes bestellt hatte, wurde mir ein Chai Latte gebracht – und ich bin so froh darüber! Der Chai war unglaublich aromatisch, mit einer frischen und perfekt abgestimmten Gewürzmischung, die ich so noch nie erlebt habe. Meine Begleitung, Anni, hatte einen frischen Zitronentee und war ebenfalls sehr überrascht. Der Tee schmeckte überhaupt nicht künstlich, sondern wunderbar erfrischend und natürlich – ein echtes Highlight!

Zum Essen: Wir haben das Banh Mi von der Mittagskarte probiert, ein vietnamesisches Baguette, das hier mit Seitan als Fleischalternative serviert wird. Obwohl ich das traditionelle Banh Mi kenne, war ich begeistert von dieser Interpretation. Der Geschmack war hervorragend und die Kombination der Zutaten perfekt abgestimmt – ein absolutes Muss für alle, die etwas Neues ausprobieren möchten.

Meine Begleitung hatte ein Käsebrot von der Mittagskarte. Das Brot war nicht nur geschmacklich ein Volltreffer, sondern wurde mit einem kleinen Salat mit lila Kartoffeln serviert, der auch optisch etwas hermachte. Das Käsebrot hat ebenfalls sehr, sehr lecker geschmeckt – ein weiterer Beweis für die Sorgfalt und Liebe zum Detail in der Küche.

Fazit: ich dachte erst das het Paradies würde nur mit einer schönen Optik beeindrucken, aber es war rundum perfekt vom Essen, bis zu den herzlichen Mitarbeiterinnen. Außerdem gibt's es sogar eine kleine seconhand Abteilung....
