Since a couple of months the restaurant has a new owner (chef), and this has been a great improvement. Before I would have not recommended the restaurant, but now you should definitely give it a try. My wife had a 4 course surprise meal and I had a starter, in between and main course. The in between was goose liver, a dish which I certainly recommend. The main course was a beef tenderloin, which was perfectly done (right core temperature , good bark and great taste). So compliments to the chef, I only had the impression that it was a shoulder tenderloin iso a real one. Most people will not note the difference, but anyway... There is a good selection of wines (split in a 'normal' and 'premium' selection). We had a chenin blanc from the normal and a brunello from the premium selection. Service was friendly, and attentful (pouring wine when glasses were almost empty). Price / quality ratio was good for the food and the wines. Only two suggested improvement points:
Great food, no question about that, but their service leaves a lot to be desired which resulted in not bothering to return here anymore. My first couple of visits were almost perfect (the food, wine selection, service, etc) but that was as a couple or part of a group. When I turned up on my own midweek I was told the kitchen was closing early so had to find somewhere else to eat (it was not long after 8pm) and then on another attempt a few weeks later it became the same story! It felt like they would be happy to accommodate a couple or group late on but not solo diners. Apparently somebody who dines out on their own 2 or 3 times a week is not as important to this restaurant as a group of four who probably only dine out 2 or 3...

We had a 5 course menu, and every dish was a little work of art. Each tiny piece of each composition was an explosion of flavor, imaginative without being excessively daring.
