Yugo Haren — Restaurant in Groningen

We had the basic menu. The sushi is very good, the rice has a nice flavour and the piece are a nice size.

The warm dishes were good as well, maybe some of the sauces where a bit too sweet for our liking.

I only had one salad, which was the seaweed salad..there was way more lettuce then actual seaweed which was a bit disappointing. (see picture below)

I also had one handroll, so it might have been a mistake but like half of the roll didn't have any filling, so after a few bites i was just eating nori.

It's a nice restaurant, the tables are not too close together, the staff is friendly and attentive, the service was quite quick even when it got busy.

What i missed was the option to choose an all you can drink menu, sushi is already expensive so I don't think it's weird to want...

Anything that came from the delux menu page was fresh and tasty (that is why an extra star), the rest was an incredible disappointment. I am sure few people would consider the duck or the raw tuna edible at all, it was near-rotten. This place has all the components of the worst sushi all-you-can-eat (including tablets to order, premade food that comes in matter of seconds (!) and timed dinner), but with an upgrated ambient. Please do not fall in the trap of the soft light and delux forniture. For little more money you can eat in real restaurants like Hanasato and for much less money you can eat the same food in all-you-can-eat restaurants that are not pretending to be anything else than what they are....

Lovely Japanese restaurant in Haren, the best one I've tried so far in Groningen. The basic manu has a nice selection of dishes and the portions are just right. Good variety of sushi, soups and salads. Fine choice of wines, too. The service was also good but can be improved. It's definitely a place I'd recommend if you happen to be in Groningen Zuid. Unfortunately, it's a bit of the way if you're in the city centre but the restaurant is easily reachable by bus and car. I'll...
