17 euros for one small coffee and pie. A bit expensive even for the area.
The only seat I found was next to an extremely dusty houseplant or the WC. As I sat, a silverfish bug crawled along the wall in front of me.
The servers seemed to not know who ordered what and where they were. To receive my small order took a while, and the servers brought food in and out and asked people to repeat their order.
When I finally got my order, the pie had a very large blonde hair baked into it. The server never came to check, so I had to bring it across the restaurant to the desk.

Read moreOne of the good coffee places in Haarlem. Two things made me stop going here: i come here quite often. One time after i ordered my coffee, i also asked a small glass of water. I was rejected! Not nice!!! As an add-on: it was a week day, no queue at all! This is a very simple way of showing your genuine interest to your returning customers.. but no worries, but decided to give the second chance! I came back to order the nicest coffee of haarlem. Having two kids around, i forgot to put the mask on which was hanging in my hand. The same person warned me in a very customer unfriendly way that wearing that mask is to protect myself and good for me. Lessons learned, thanks...

I'm a coffee lover, barista, and amateur roaster, and was delighted to see a medium-roasted single-origin as their espresso bean and not some dark-roasted melange. It was this beautifully roasted floral and chocolate Ethiopian that was nice balanced, not too heavy on citrus or acidity (which is what usually happens with Ethiopian hierlooms), roasted by Bocca in Amsterdam (who clearly know what they're doing!).
