TenT — Restaurant in Haarlem

In the most unlikely place you seem to get amazing food.. this also applies to TenT.. it's in a shopping area in Haarlem I never go to and walking past it you would never expect to be blown away by ur meal.

But blown away I was.. as insignificant as it looks on the outside it's quite nicely decorated inside colours have been used wisely and playfully to give it a warm yet stylish decor.

It's an intimate dinner so definitely book ahead to reserve a table.. Staff are friendly and chatty it almost feels like a family business(which I don't think it is but am not sure)

We Started off with the bread plate which was nice enough and they are not stingy with the bread(which smells divine cause it's roasted on the grill) so pace your self because u want to fully enjoy ur meal.

I was least impressed by the complimentary soup we got.

But then came the star of the night I had the mixed grill which came with Oosenhaas, chicken thigh fillet and spare ribs.

Each one of these meats was flavour packed and just the way you want ur grilled meat crunch on the outside yet juicy and soft. They are so go I barely touched the sauses I was given say to taste them and they are good but not necessary. oooh and did I mention that the sweat potato puree is divine..

Oooh I love me a sweat white but at this point I have grown to expect and make do with some weak dry wine being passed off as sweat wine or an overly sweat desert wine. But The sweat white at TenT is perfectly balanced..not too sweat just right.

for Desert I had the chefs surprise I loved my spek koek a the passion fruit ice cream just hit the spot the wentelteefje on the other hand wasnt my cup of tea it was probably good but since I am not a fun of cinnamon I couldn't enjoy it.

A small place I'd recommend booking a table in advance, happened to roll up on an open table so 1.the service and staff were as friendly as a family cafe 2.the food .THE FOOD! WAS just out of this world the starter terake beef I had was great but the FLAT GRILLED BURGER WAS JUST WOW! I have never tasted anything like it it was so well Balanced in tastes and textures it dissolved as you ate it not chewy but just amazing and I highly recommend trying it

You get what you pay for in truest meaning

The beer selection is small yet I'd say for the tastes of the beer it's a good fine small selection I'd suggest the tripple or the hoegarden blanc

Deze verborgen parel van Terry en Tasha krijgt zeker 5 sterren. Achter de amicale sfeer schuilt een perfecte smaakbalans van de gerechten die je eigenlijk niet zou verwachten op het eerste gezicht van zaak en de kaart, maar schijn bedriegt! Gelukkig waren we getriggerd door de hoge rating op Google en The Fork. De chef weet heel subtiel ingrediënten toe te voegen aan ogenschijnlijk standaard gerechten waardoor de smaaksensatie je verrast!! Mijn ultieme test om de kwaliteit van een chef testen (als vleesliefhebber) is het nemen van de mixed grill. Ik kan je vertellen, ik heb zelden zo’n goede en vooral lekkere mixed grill gehad!! De Kippedijsate, Ossenhaasspies en Spareribs waren elk voortreffelijk!!! Allemaal hadden ze de perfecte gaarheid en de heerlijke houtskool smaak! En tegelijk hebben ze elk hun individuele smaak en karakter behouden. Erg knap dus!! Als voorgerecht had ik de gamba’s met een mooie variatie van groentes (precies genoeg) met als leuke twist de toegevoegde stukjes pittige chorizo, ook echt heerlijk! Nicole had de tournedos, qua smaak perfect maar net wat minder mals dan je zou verwachten. We vonden het niet een reden om terug te sturen naar de keuken maar de chef zei achteraf (toen we nog even stonden na te praten) dat we dat wel hadden moeten doen, er kan altijd een minder stukje vlees tussen zitten. We gaan dus zeker nog een keer voor de herkansing van de tournedos ;-). Als bijgerechten elk een schaaltje met salade en samen een schaaltje frites, leek weinig maar was zeker voldoende, als je meer wilt kun je altijd bijvragen en weggooien is zonde! De heerlijke amuse (pomodorisoep) en limoncello van het huis maakte het perfecte plaatje compleet. Wij komen zeker een keer terug en nemen dan graag wat vrienden mee om ze ook te laten genieten van dit heerlijke TenTje! Met Culinaire...
