The fly in the picture was paying more attention to us than anyone else in the place. Tried only drinks. We also wanted some meal there but the staff's cold response made us get out of there in a few minutes, the drinks served I downed in a minute as my wife wanted get out of there asap. Will be there never again. It was 4:40pm a bit chilly and windy outside. We can see plenty of tables with no reservation sign. I asked if we could sit in another table as the given table in far corner was with bad view and bunch of flies. Answer was no and no despite of many free tables without reservation signs at all. Can't comment on the food as we decided to be there never again. Pity that we came to dislike the good looking and nicely located place so close...

Restaurant Lieveling is absolutely amazing and a must visit place if you are in the area. My husband and I came across this place while walking around in the Toolenburg area and what a find it has been!! The food is delicious, the ambience is fabulous and the location is perfect!!! Situated by the Toolenburg lake, the restaurant offers stunning views aling with the yummy delights on the menu. Our favourites include the Torpedo Garnelen (tempura shrimps) and the dutch specialties of Bitterballen and Vlametjes among the snacks items and then in the main course, the Kipsate (chicken skewers with a saté sauce) is absolutely to die for!!!! Let me start with the staff. There is nothing I hate more than when someone doesn't look you in the eye when addressing you. But the people at Lieveling have taken it to an entirely knew level with their haughty "you're only a customer, who do you think you are" attitude that pervades the entire staff at this place from the owner on down.

Then there's the food. It's not that it's overpriced, because it is. It's that the quality of the food is of such poor quality that if you want to spend a night with stomach cramps and wondering "why me" whilst sitting on the toilet, then THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.
