Strandpaviljoen De Watering — Restaurant in Katwijk

We visited this beachside restaurant expecting a relaxing meal by the sea, but unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by poor service and unreasonable expectations.

After having eaten, we were surprised when the waitress expected us to clean the seashells on our table which our kids had brought from the shore—something that was apparently prompted by an elder customer's complaint. This task was handed to us without even questioning what was that bothered the elders so much, which felt quite inappropriate and unprofessional.

To add to the frustration, the floor beneath our table was already covered with sand. When we mentioned this, the justification we received was simply, "Well, we're near the beach." While we understand that a beachfront location naturally comes with sand, using that as an excuse while complaining about a handfull of seashels is unacceptable. The staff even sided with the other client who told tell us "dont come here if u dont like the cleaniness"

The location is nice, but the experience left a lot to be desired. We hope the management reconsiders how it handles guest feedback and staff responsibilities ( even if they are jong and inexperenced) in the future.

Essen kann ich nicht bewerten. Aber wir waren zum Check in dem strandpaviljoen. Mega schön eingerichtet.

Wir hatten spontan einen Beach Bungalow gebucht und den Schlüssel dort abgeholt. Auch eine späte Anreise ist kein Problem. Alles verlief reibungslos, vom Check-in bis zum Check-out. Unterkunft "Overnachtingopstrand".

Das war ein einzigartiges Erlebnis! Die Übernachtung direkt am Strand war einfach traumhaft – man schläft buchstäblich mit dem Rauschen der Wellen im Ohr ein und wird vom Sonnenaufgang über dem Meer geweckt. Die Unterkunft war sauber, okay eingerichtet und alles was man braucht für ein paar Tage, sogar eine Spülmaschine.

Besonders gefallen hat uns die Lage – perfekt zum Abschalten und Entspannen.
