Bagels & Beans — Restaurant in Leeuwarden

Recently, I had the opportunity to have lunch at Bagels & Beans, and unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the quality, prices, and the marketing approach. Despite the restaurant's claim of being environmentally conscious, my experience revealed otherwise. The interactive menus made of plastic, though visually appealing and accompanied by natural sounds like birdsong, turned out to be problematic due to the excessive use of ink and battery, resulting in more environmentally harmful waste.

Additionally, the paper napkins with prints further exacerbated the environmental impact, while the restaurant's decor, despite some plants, didn't convey a genuine environmental concern. Neglect of the plants underscored this discrepancy.

However, I must commend the service, particularly the excellent barista, and the tasty sandwich, albeit at a rather high price. Overall, I find the restaurant's marketing to be misleading and its prices excessive, which leads me to not plan...

Food was 10/10, no doubts (two * are just bcs of that). However service was horrible. Terrace was full of dirty tables with used dishes (same situation inside). Just few tables were sitting outside and waitress had a problem to take care about them (it took her so long and she didn’t even noticed new customers). If u think that problem was that there wasn’t enough employees you are wrong. There were four employees inside having a fun. One man was sitting with used dishes from people sat there before for more than one hour! And waitress went inside with empty tray every time not taking anything! The restaurants looks cute, food has a good quality but supervisor should do something with that horrible service. I would love to come back again but this place needs better...

Elke keer als ik hier kom, kom ik teleurgesteld weer naar huis. Het was er druk, maar het zat niet helemaal vol. De bediening liep steeds langs ons, maar het duurde best wel lang voordat ze ons begroette. Er was te weinig bediening aanwezig, ik weet niet of dit een structureel probleem is of omdat iemand zich bijvoorbeeld ziek heeft gemeld. Het menu was dit keer veranderd en er waren dit keer minder veganistische opties. Maar er was nog keuze. We kozen beide een Tex Mex bagel. Het duurde best wel lang voordat we deze kregen en toen waren ze ook de salsa vergeten. De bediening er om gevraagd voor ons beiden en nadat ze 2 keer was langsgekomen hadden we we inmiddels beide onze bagel incl salsa. De bagel was echt heel erg flauw, heel erg basic. Er zat nauwelijks smaak aan en daar betaal je dan €7,50 voor per bagel. De salsa had de meeste smaak, maar smaakte niet vers. Daarnaast was de bagel ook heel erg klef geworden. En als ik deze zaak dan ook moet beschrijven komt het woord basic in me op. Het eten, uiterlijk van de zaak zelf, de muziek, maar ook de bediening. Volgende keer als ik een bagel wil eten, koop ik bij de Jumbo zelf wel bagels en beleg ik die zelf. Begrijp me niet verkeerd ik vind het idee erg leuk. Duurzamer dan andere tentjes. Stoffen handdoekjes op het toilet (die waren nu op), ipv papieren. En bagels kan je ook niet echt op een andere plek eten in Leeuwarden. Maar de uitvoering hiervan is het...
