Ordered online our X-mas meal and went to the agreed hour to the restaurant for take-away. Very friendly staff members! Was able to wait inside (Holland in total lock-down at the moment) and freezing outside. Was offered their ´Bitterballen´while waiting for less then 5 minutes for the order to be ready.

When unpacking the order, positively surprised by the eye for detail, all very well packed, all food still hot and fresh, and as a surprise Loetje X-mas heats for the whole family. A nice restaurant with cozy atmosphere and friendly service. However, the famous loetje steaks are nothing to write home about for a true steak lover. Loetje's signature is covering steak with a type of butter sauce, and while this is unique on its own, it does ruin the unique taste of a proper steak. The steaks are also not very tender, despite it being a medium rare ossenhaas cut, which leaves further room for improvement for the kitchen. Not worth your time or money. Staff is extremely rude, drops food and drinks on the table without as much as a comment or eye contact. The steak they promote as "famous" is served cold with cold gravy (which is just plain and salty), apparently they can only serve the steak medium rare (a sign that it's not freshly prepared) but it was still more rare than a true "rare steak" should be. It's basically a fancy snackbar as you receive your food as is, if you order a steak, you receive a steak, no decorating the plate, no side dishes. The schnitzel is just plain from the fryer.
