This is my first time to Aruba and I really enjoyed the island. I came here this week (Oct 13 - 21, 2018) with my twin sister for our 50th birthday celebration. Tonight (Oct 19th) we decided to go back to Ling & Sons and get grouper for dinner instead of going out. We both bought our own items instead of having it all rang up together and splitting the bill to pay w out credit cards. My sister went thru 1st and her total for 5 items came out to be a total of $20.44 USD. The lady rang me up next and I only had 3 items but ended up paying $38.44. The cashier did not give either of us an itemized receipt after we paid and signed the credit card receipt. Since we paid over $260 last Sunday for groceriesfor this week and forgot to bring the coupon for a free shopping bag (for which on Sunday I was told it was $4 for the bag and tonight it was only $2) i tried to get the bag and had my credit card receipt with me. After being told we had to speak to a supervisor and then a store manager, we came to find out that they kept asking for the itemized receipt and would not accept the credit card receipt which we told them several times that we did not get as we thought it was due to the store closing at 6pm and we shut them down. So after going back and forth with the 2 managers, they took my credit receipt for last Sunday for $130 cuz they had to have a copy of the receipt to show that they gave away a $2 or $4 bag against the coupon. That took about 15 to 20 minutesto get that done. Of course, while we were talking to the Managers I was handed an itemized receipt from the bagger. I didn't check the receipt until we got back to the resort and found that even though my sister paid for her items before me, I ended up paying for her items as well as mine on my receipt so I was over charged $20.44 plus whatever the taxes are. Long story short, make sure you get an itemized receipt and double check that you were charged for the items you purchased and not for anything additional. Also, if you do like we did last Sunday and had the payment split between us, make sure you get an itemized receipt for your records and checl it against all the items that were bought. And just to add, the cashier was the same lady that checked us out on Sunday and didnt give us a receipt.

So please make sure you get an itemized receipt even if you pay with a credit card and get a credit card receipt as you will need the itemized receipt if you have any problems or questions on your purchase. Then make sure you check the items you bought against that receipt to make sure you paid for only the items you purchased. I like the store and the fish was awesome compared to eating out and i do realize that this is not the USA and prices are higher than what we are used to, but just make sure you are only paying for the items you actually purchased. And make sure that if you have a coupon for a free $2/$4 plastic grocery bag and you spend over $50 on that purchase, that you have the coupon with you and you get it at that...

Outstanding. If you're staying in or anywhere near the low-rise resorts, the two most convenient grocery stores are Ling & Sons or Superfoods and Ling's wins the comparison hands down in pretty much every category. The quality & variety of their produce is enough to make me a loyal & regular customer there, but I find the whole experience to be preferable from the more convenient & plentiful parking to the helpful staff at the tills & customer service. Worthy of note, Ling's hot & cold prepared foods are delicious, reasonably priced, & for visitors, provide an easy way to sample Aruban cuisine (which I highly recommend). I spend my time photographing on the island & often arrange my day to put me near Ling's around lunch time. A quick stop in & I have a delicious & healthy meal to go. If I know I won't be near, I might even stop on my way out of the area & pack a lunch from their prepared-foods selections for later. Bottom line: Terrific quality throughout the store, excellent variety, & a helpful staff - what else would I be...

Buyer Beware!!!!

Been here many times over the years, but last night we were scammed. Bought 4 items and paid by credit card. Not given itemized receipt.

Make sure you ALWAYS get credit card receipt and itemized receipt and check to make sure the prices and items you were charged for are yours before you leave the store.

My brother checked out behind me with same cashier and was charged his 3 items plus my 4 items AGAIN. Didn't realize this until we had to get an itemized receipt. Unfortunately, he didn't check it until he got home and found he was charged for all of my items I already paid for.

This is NOT ok and quite frankly fraud and theft. Not sure if this is a common practice but not sure what compensation we're going to get from the store since I didn't get an itemized receipt. Just be careful if shopping here.

Get itemized receipt and check it in the store...

One of the largest Supermarkets on the island, Ling & Son's is premier in product, location and service. Located at the beginning of the low rise hotel and the end of the Watty Vos Boulevard. The supermarket has a wide variety of products. What sets it apart is that there is a deli, fresh juice counter and a walk through food stand. Besides that it is compartmentalised so navigating through the supermarket can be done with ease. The isles are spacios and long. The pricea are on the higher end compared to other supermarket. I willbsay though, you can find producta and brands that are not available elsewhere. Clean and organised. The staff seem busy but polite. Multiple check out lanes and there is also a fast check out lane.

Ive been going to Ling & Sons as a child with my grandmother and now coming back as an adult I am pleasantly surprised that they have managed to keep up with the times adapt and conquer. The outside areas that was nice to sit at and wait that was always too windy has been transformed into a indoor food court for the pay-for-weight food you could buy inside from the buffet. I was so impressed at all the options of beef stew and fish and more classic Caribbean dishes! The store offers a nice variety of Dutch products AND American products.

It's a grocery store, it was dark in the store. Kinda like a hospital vibe. The produce didn't look all that great on my visit, so all I purchased were some grapes (which were delicious). They have an open salad bar setting for you to scoop what you wanted, which is ok if you're into that sort of setting nowadays. When I got up to the checkout, it was like the clerks didn't want to be there (maybe it's the lighting). @according2teau 👽🦄
