Midori kawa sushi cafe — Restaurant in Purmerend

Amazing vibes, amazing staff and amazing food. What more could you ask for? When in Purmerend, this is my go-to place for Japanese fast food. A bit on the pricier side, but don’t let that deter you, because it’s worth every penny. I highly recommend their takoyaki, karaage and Yakult soda (not pictured here) to anyone looking to try something unique yet delicious. The energy of the people working here is infectious, the place is objectively aesthetically pleasing, and the multiple Maneki Neko beckon (no pun intended) all food lovers, weaboos and cat lovers alike. I have nothing negative to say about Midori kawa (except for the fact that here too the takoyaki isn’t exactly like the one I enjoyed in Akihabara all those years ago, but that isn’t really a negative for Midori kawa specifically). I grab brunch from here almost on the daily now. Midori kawa sushi café daisuki ♥️

P.S.: Those in the Google Maps open beta, I spent more per person because I have a bigger appetite, especially when it comes to Japanese food. Do not use this as a baseline per person by any means. YMMV...

I ordered a taro latte with tapioca, my favourite, which I usually get. The tapioca was nice and chewy but pretty flavourless. The taro latte can be ordered at different levels of sweetness. Never having had theirs before, I went with 'standard' sweetness. Unfortunately, it wasn't sweet enough for my personal preference. The latte itself was nice and smooth, though. I will try this...
