Chekiang Garden — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Please do not have food here. One of us became very ill and had to vomit the same night after dinner.

The food is terrible. I had the peking duck in a chili sauce. The sauce tasted like the cheap sweet chili sauce you get from a low-budget supermarket. I expected the sauce to be made in-house. At least choose a good chili sauce brand.

In addition, the nasi rice (ordered separately from the main dish) they serve has pork meat in it. I asked for the rice without meat, but had to wait more than half an hour for it. Turned out that they delivered it to the wrong table. My food went cold, and when I asked for it to be reheated it was clearly heated up in a microwave.

Only the sushi was alright. We had one roll as a starter.

An atrocious experience overall....

Your local Chinese (Dutch) restaurant.

As every Dutch city, Rotterdam had many small Chinese restaurants. Their kitchen isn't fully Chinese, but matched with the Dutch taste.

Chekiang garden is such a place.

Very friendly staff. Large amounts of food and semi Chinese dishes. Price quality is perfect! And so it their hospitality and cleanness.

Some of the food was delicious, but some was really not at all. Service: first server was very nice and friendly, the 2nd however was very rude and wasn't really trying to serve us properly. For no reason other guests (everyone else) got warm towels and a little present as a goodbye. We didn't got offered any of those and felt very unwanted. Would not recommend for tourist, to say...
