Station Bergweg — Restaurant in Rotterdam

just a bit meh, to be honest. It’s another place you’re kinda forced to like cos there’s no alternative in the area, and the concept is cool, reclaiming an old station, food hall etc, but it’s just not executed very well. Firstly the ventilation is awful, by the ping pong table it was almost impossible to breathe. Our clothes stank. We paid €18 for a pizza (and yet it was cooked in a gas oven no?). My boyfriend ordered a cookie and ice cream and when he asked for a spoon they told him they don’t supply them? 🥴. Feels like there’s very limited seating for the capacity the space demands. The staff are nice but incredibly chaotic it was stressing me out just watching them. On a positive note, the pittas from the pitta place are tasty, despite the lack of cutlery… the people at the beer place were friendly, and of course it’s nice to have Le Petitjean back. Known concept (foodhallen vibes), there are different bars for drinks and food while everyone is sharing the same space. Limited spots to sit (busy on friday/saturday night since is something new in the area) but also many people are just hanging more informally around the bars. I had drinks at the small bar called ARC, and I must say it was really good, not cheap but also pretty well made, with rich ingredients, On some nights there was also a DJ and cool music playing in the background which added to the vibe, not dancy tho because it was not the scope of the space. It honestly has great potential, if they promote some events it will be also fun to go. I love the idea of this place, especially reclaiming the old station with local vendors, but it’s always severely crowded and terribly loud. Even worse, the prices are astronomical for what it is. I ordered a taco and asked the woman at the counter if it would be enough for one person, which for 9€ I figured it might be. She said yes, but once it came out I was so shocked because it was enough for maybe a child😂 The atmosphere is nice but the rest really prevents me from ever...
