Auberge des moules — Restaurant in Terneuzen

My husband and I had two different three-course menus, both of which included the local specialty, mussels, as the main course.

Both starters were quite adequate, and so were the desserts that we both enjoyed.

Unfortunately, we had to wait too long for the main course to arrive - well over an hour after we had both finished our appetizers. The mussels themselves were tasty, fat and rich in flavour, but that is what one could, nay should, expect of an establishment which is rather expensive, a description which holds for Auberge des Moules. Our main point of criticism as regards the main course itself is that most things that the restaurant offered in addition to the mussels, namely the mustard(y) sauce, and the taste of herbs and vegetables with which the mussels had been prepared, were mediocre and bore witness of lack of...

I visited this restaurant and their food is amazing good, our friends are frequent clients of them for years and wow exquisite as they said, a place with history, very cozy since you step in, very excellent service and treatment from their staffs and the owner all the time, we started with some aperitifs and good Spanish wines, they have various menus to choose from different things and of course their specialty Mosselen! Their croquettes are real fresh and tasty, a delicious crabs soup, we had bunches of mosselen OMG like heaven, juicy and flavorful, their frietjes are ok but can be better, desserts also good, but definitely i will visit this place again and if you are in the mood for mosselen, thi is the place to be!!!...

The quality and the freshness of the seafood was exceptional. My absolute favorites were the langoustines and the kingfish in the sashimi. My recommendation is to arrive with completely empty stomach and then take one of the menu offers; when you are a group I also recommend to share the different starters!
