Our starters included fresh oysters, with a choice between a simple preparation (great for first-timers) or the chef's special; crunchy tempura shrimp made with crispy batter; and a portion of five vegetable gyozas. The short rib for the main course was lovely and tender, served with a very tasty jus that complemented it superbly. The combination of root vegetable chips with the potato purée was genius, adding flavor and texture to the potato. The steak of the day was the shoulder steak (diamond haas), which was equally divine. The portion sizes were just right, enough to fill you comfortably without excess. For the children’s menu, there are three options, The child can choose between meat or vegetarian dishes, or build their own meal by selecting a “bite” which is accompanied with salad, apple compote, and fries. When it comes to drinks, I recommend the Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir)—bold and rich with cherry notes—and the espresso martini to finish off. We enjoy coming here because of the quality food and friendly staff. However, I do recommend booking, as it can get quite full, especially in the colder months.

Aan de kant van de bediening zou iemand met iets meer ervaring een toegevoegde waarde kunnen zijn.

My husband and I were unsure whether this would be just another mediocre neighborhood bistro, but we were both so pleasantly surprised by the quality, options and flavors of this week’s special starter (scallops), the sea bream and dessert (tiramisu and friandieses) were really good quality for the price.
