Haley's Comet Breakfastclub — Restaurant in The Hague

By the 80s inspired place where you play cool board/card games (you are able to borrow) or make use of the retro arcade station - it is a very nice cozy place where you can sit inside or outside to enjoy your coffee or any of the seasonal items they have which is a great addition to the menu. In case you want one of the best chicken tenders in the neighbourhood, I suggest you to order it here. They are actually TENDER and very crunchy on the outside. My daughter immediately asked me to make it for dinner at home once.

The decaf coffee of the season was amazing! There is also normal coffee of course. The season sandwiches that we shared also had a very nice and distinct taste which we will carry with us for a long time. The food was served not long after we ordered which is a great plus. Vegetarian options are also very delicious!

All in all - a must visit during non-peak hours as it gets really busy during peak hours and of course waiting would be a bit longer than usual. Keep that in mind. Kitchen closes before closing times - I think 1 hour or 45min before closing (not confirmed).

Based on a recommendation of a fellow student, I decided to give this place a try! It exceeded all of my expectations :)

First of all, the coffee is really, really good. As a coffee lover, I have to say their espresso was one of the better ones I've had! However, this was just the beginning of something even better. Whoever made the pancakes is an absolute artist, the pancakes were soft, fruity, and generally to die for 🥰 The ingredients complemented each other really well, and it was perfect for the mood I was in!

However, the general atmosphere and the people that work here might be the best thing about the restaurant. The place feels really inclusive and welcoming, and the staff make the place feel really vibrant. The people were really kind, and great at what they do!

I ordered the chicken & waffles and Came here for brunch and while the interior is nice, I was a bit underwhelmed by the food. I got the chicken and waffles and waited quite a while for the food to arrive after ordering.

I’m not sure if they changed their waffles recently but the one I got looked very different from the other photos I’ve seen, it was just a limp eggo waffle drenched in barbeque sauce, and the fried chicken was not fried it was breaded and quite dry. It tasted and looked suspiciously similar to supermarket chicken tenders… it didn’t taste like a single thing on the plate was actually made fresh :(

However I did like their coffee, I had the iced bounty latte and it was nice and coconutty, although it could do with some chocolate to make it more like a bounty 😅
