Another round of review for this property - I don't think in all my years I've returned to the same property so often within a year's time. Will keep this review short - but again seems that this property is listening to feedback from their guests ( = mine) - from what I noticed just after slightly a month staying here and giving them the feedback. This time, I did a 2-night stay since the rates were still very attractive for this property and this time I lucked out with both in-house benefits and mother nature (= weather), as finally some late spring weather arrived in the country. I was upgraded to a Family Suite room - to be selfish, I am enjoying these restricted borders these days as I have been getting very good upgrades at most Hilton's and have to fight with the rest of the world. This time I was allocated a room on the 4th floor. The view of this room faced this time the innercourt of the hotel. For me the room this time, although the same category I did find it to be in a better layout compared to the last family suite I had. All in all everything I needed from a room good sleep functional to do work and in this case have breakfast in the room to relax Small tip: Maybe the hotel should get a rotating table for the TV - as i think a lot of guests have shifted the TV back and forth to watch from the bed/sitting area. Breakfast was the same format as the last time - in room. The last time I did provide some feedback that some orders were mixed up/incorrect and this time I saw that they improved the form to avoid such confusion, which indeed this time was well executed and breakfast did arrive close to the requested time (not 20 mins earlier like the last time). I would say this is where the hotel really shined this time. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. One of the most outstanding was since I had a 2 night stay, I did ask for housekeeping service - and during the service, I guessed they noticed that one of the lights above the headboard was not work (I was not going to bring it up), but upon returning to the room I found that they got someone to fix it. Very good and proactive - which you don't see much at other properties unless you report it. All in all - a big kudos to the property. It does seem that in the weekends the property does get quite full - I suspect with lots of staycationers. The front desk does get slightly overwhelmed with guests during check-in/out hours during the weekends. One small minor note - this time around, did see that there was a couple that were checking in (you know those type - young who seems to feel like " do you know who I am type" and " I don't need to follow the rules" type checking in without wearing a face mask - and sadly I did not see anyone say anything to them. Did give the look at a few times but guess they were too ignorant to notice them. I find this totally disrespectful, OTOH the staff should have said something too (not sure if that was mentioned when they...
Read moreDeducted one point because it's evident that the adjacent car park (run by Q-park) can get full depending on time of arrival and day of the week. Incidentally, 'reserving' a space on the Q-park website worked well and ANPR operated successfully on both entry and exit. There are supposedly some 'Hilton spaces' but it's evident that these are used by everyone (there's no enforcement) and similarly, don't depend on using the EV chargers: all the spaces were occupied, some with cars charging, some with ICE cars - again, no enforcement. If you need to charge, wait until, say, late evening when the spaces might free up....Getting to the car park was relatively easy, hotel being just outside the centre, only one really busy street to negotiate||Access from the car park to the hotel lobby was easy, although you need to press an entry intercom. Reception staff (just one person) was clearly overwhelmed and trying to deal with a queue of many people checking in - this is unfortunately a common occurrence as hotels deliberately under-staff to save money. Only as the queue dissipated was she joined by someone else....||The room was very, very good: the air-con was very quiet and effective (are you reading this Accor-group hotels?), our room had the bonus of a 'wet room' shower and a fridge, as well as the usual amenities. The room was clean, bed very firm but OK (hotels will never be able to please everyone) and indeed the hotel appears to have very good sound insulation, so the room was lovely and quiet, with lots of space. The usual 'need a degree' to operate the lights, but at least they all worked!||Breakfast was OK....scrambled eggs were a bit dry and rubbery, best option is to get fried or omelette 'made to order' (fill in a card and present to server). Lots of choice for 'other stuff', you could do some serious calorie damage here. Staff were very attentive and helpful||Location of the hotel is excellent - just on the edge of the centre but a short(ish) level walk in, or use the tram or bus, stop is nearby in the next street||If visiting The Hague, I'd certainly...
Read moreRoom was spacious, location was great! (You're five min away from the buitenhof areas). Service was good: in-room dining was available (you could easily scan the qr code or call the restaurant line, and yes, the phone had great functionality as it's configured with specific lines, e.g., bar, reception, emergency, by a simple press of a button), reception was so easy to reach and always available (quite busy times during my stay), and the staff were pretty helpful. One thing though, there was no welcome drinks, which most 4-star hotels in NL do offer upon check-in. Amenities were fine. Personally, I find it rather inconvenient that bath robes and slippers were available on request, given that the bathroom was well equipped with a tub. There's no coffee machine. No bottles of water available in the fridge, although that seemed to be their standard as the staff mentioned it when I asked about it. Local TV channels were accessible but it wasn't a smart tv. The wifi, for some reason, was also a little slow. Something I find pretty nice was the ice cube machine available on every floor. The room was very big (really felt deluxe; I'd say this was a quite outstanding point of this hotel, also if you compare it to the other hotels in the same class) and was generally pretty clean, although you could easily tell that the furniture was quite aged (this also goes to those in the common areas). Cups could've also been cleaner. One thing I noticed it says that AC will automatically turn off when windows are being opened. It didn't seem to be the case however. I kind of understood the idea behind putting some deposit money upon checking in. However, I still think that it's not the most guest-friendly solution, and it could easily turn into awkward situations, as some guests experienced significant delays when checking out. Check-out time at 12 noon is really a great standard. I dined at the restaurant, Blue Blood, and the food was really great. Oh, and they've got a beautiful bar! Overall, it was a...
