What a delicious meal! At the recommendation of my tour guide, I decided to Book this Indonesian restaurant for dinner, and I couldn't be more happy to have done so. The process was quick, easy and without problems.

Once you arrive to the small, single room restaurant you are surrounded by many enticing smells and a relaxing atmosphere. Having already looked through their online menu (€25) (and googling the different dishes), I asked the very friendly waiter if it was possible to substitute the hotter spicy dishes for some more mild (coconut based) ones, and they did so without any problems.

The wait was not too long, and they gave you appetisers (crisps). The waiter, when not needed by the clients, chatted with people, something I found being soo Dutch (friendly and open).

Once the food arrived, it was quickly served on hot plates, as not to cool down throughout the meal.

I ordered the fried rice as a side which was amazing and the chicken satay was fantastic (really what I was looking for in my trip). The great thing of having small portions of the dishes is that you get to try many different flavours without being too full. Everything was exquisite, creamy or crunchy, spicy or mild that I savoured every single bite.

The little fried rice leftover was without any problems or frawn placed in a doggy bag to have for my lunch the next day.

For dessert (€7), after talking with the waiter, I ordered their coconut milk, palm (?) sugar syrup and gelatine balls. I must say that I didn't exactly excite me too much. As you stir it, the syrups mixes with the coconut milk, which means that at the end you are left with the bottom layer of dessert that is just too sweet to drink. The gelatine shapes also weren't to my taste. In hindsight, I shouldn't have gotten the dessert.

Neverless, super Recommended coming here for Dinner to eat Authentic...

This indonesisch restaurant Keraton Damai was suggested us by the concierge of The Hague Marriott and he arranged for us the booking due to 👑 this is not so easy because the small restaurants have only limited availebility. We were happy to get confirmed the reservation. We have choosen the Rijstafel Keraton Damai in the fully version to be sure we can try almost everything from the menu. It was a good choice. We enjoyed the meal and also the drinks: freshly made ginger tea and the nonalkoholic Leffe Blond were amazing. The food was tasty and certainly too much but you can get a box and we did so. It was a nice dining experience though we don't have indonesian restaurants in our corner in North Germany and wanted to explore the unique tast of Java. Additionally we were very amused about the good conversation with the service team. We talked about culture, history and life in Indonesia especially in Bali since we have already visited Bali 12 years ago. And one suggestion for you if you are able to read german books: there us a very heartwarming book as a novel about Bali with a story was happened about 115 years ago: Vicky Baum: Liebe und Tod auf Bali - the title is kind strange but the story is very very good. I read the book and immediately startad to read once again. Sure this restaurant is not Balinese but we had slightly a déja vu because of the ambience, music (flute) and the taste. Thank you for the good hospitality and the...

Poor customer service- it’s just too much of a let down for the price your paying.

cocky manager who talks down to you and makes slightly off putting comments. I understand being proud of your place but I didn’t feel good paying such rates to digest not just the food but his over share of opinion. I really do not prefer to be told that I’m not drinking my drink in the correct manner either. I guess half the other places are serving that same drink wrong then. the team working under him seems to be free to take out their bad mood on the clients. Particularly a waitress who seemed very rough with the bussing of tables and unfriendly to answer any basic questions about the menu. If we would ask clarification on a dish we were spoken in a way that it felt like we’re being berated.

We did voice the poor customer service to the manager there and he did make an effort to rectify but I still felt that he had this mocking vibe of the situation. However, he was definitely knowledgable and passionate about his food.

The food itself was good- some dishes were quite interesting whilst others were flat. The two stars are simply for the food.

However, I would not repeat this restaurant. My advice to anyone reading- if your not fussed about the customer service or enjoy lack of finesse… then this restaurant is fine-...

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. Firstly, food is excellent. It is well-made, authentic, and extremely tasty real Indonesian food. It's not too sweet, and you can taste every flavor and spice in the dishes. I could eat their Nasi every single day if possible. The portions are also excellent. More than enough that I even had to take some home. Secondly, what amazing service. And that isn't an exaggeration, they are so observant and really think along with you as you order to ensure you have the food you really want and can enjoy. That is exceptional and I haven't experienced that before in the restaurants I have been to in the Netherlands. The atmosphere is cozy and transports you into Indonesia. I love the detailed wood panelling. I like how it is a small space but each table offers enough space to host all the plates and dishes (because you will get a lot if you order the rijsttafel). It is very dim lighting in the evening which was personally a little too dark for me, but not a major issue. Loved my experience here. Would 100% return and recommend!

We had a half-day stop in Den Haag and decided to try this authentic Indonesian restaurant based on our friend’s recommendation and the great reviews — and we’re so glad we did! The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, beautifully decorated with cultural artifacts and Indonesian music that make the experience feel truly authentic. We ordered the Rijsttafel (a multi-course meal for two) and it was absolutely incredible — a delicious spread of appetizers, skewers, and dessert. Every dish was packed with flavor, but my favorite was the chicken skewers with peanut sauce. Their wine selection was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. If you’re in Den Haag and want to enjoy genuine Indonesian cuisine, this place is a must-visit!
