The Residenz (Sweelinckplein 38) will always hold a special place in our hearts. My wife and I lived there for three months for work, and it truly felt like home — we were so sad when it came time to leave. Frank and his wife, who own and manage the property, are incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and settled in.

The apartment itself is spacious, spotlessly clean, and perfectly located. You’re just steps away from great cafés, restaurants, grocery stores, a park, chocolate shops, and the tram (lines 17 and 34), and only a short walk to the Peace Palace, Europol, ICC, and other government buildings. A quick tram ride brings you right into the heart of The Hague’s city center where you’ll find everything you need.

We stayed in the first-floor apartment —it had a large kitchen, a comfortable living room and bedroom, a lovely indoor/outdoor space, and a peaceful backyard patio. One of the unexpected highlights was getting daily visits from the friendly neighborhood cats, who we grew to love. The only downside was occasionally hearing footsteps from the upstairs neighbor late at night.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Den Haag, whether short-term or long-term, I couldn’t recommend The Residenz more. You won’t regret it. Thanks for the...

My husband, Benn, and I stayed just 1 night at the property while driving through the Netherlands to Germany and it was such a nice respite from the traditional hotels that we were staying at (which were all lovely but expectedly devoid of personality). Frank and Petra's property was so charming. The room and bathroom that we had were the largest that we experienced while in Europe and not only well appointed, but charming too. Parking was safe (in a secured parking garage), Frank gave us wonderful suggestions for a close by dinner, and the breakfast made by them the next morning was more food than either of us could eat. Everything was beautifully upkept and they were incredibly gracious hosts.||We would highly recommend staying at their property and would definitely stay with them again should we find ourselves back...

Had an excellent stay here. Room is beautifully furnished with a fireplace, adjustable beds, and lovely ambience! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was nice and a good introduction to what a Dutch breakfast would be. Location was great - the street was quiet but still near enough to walk to the city centre and other main attractions. Really near the Peace Palace. There were also nice eateries in the vicinity. Would definitely return if I come to The Hague again.
