The exhibits for the muséum are usually rétrospectives of photographers who have included the Dutch society in their work. There is one main exhibition space and two smaller areas. The museum is located next door to the Gemeentemuseum and Museon. The museum card is accepted. There is a small collection of books on photographers. There is a full scale lecturer on tab.

The foto museum in Den Haag is a small museum that includes a cafe. The foto’s displayed were nice to look at and the poetry and descriptions were interesting. A few of the art galleries were closed so we zipped through it very fast. The upstairs room showed some paintings but there was no explanation of why there were paintings in a foto museum or info on the artist. You get very little for your money when you go right now, it might be different later.

Small and cozy museum to do in a couple of hours if you decide to have lunch there. Not very crowded which is even better. The exhibition The passion ( dec 2023 )was very nice and the film shown impressive and deep. Use of headphones 🎧 recommended to improve the experience.

Als je op zoek bent naar een plek om de geschiedenis van de fotografie te ontdekken, dan moet je zeker het Fotomuseum Den Haag bezoeken. Het museum bevindt zich naast het Kunstmuseum Den Haag en is in 2002 opgericht als onderdeel van het Kunstmuseum. Het is nu een volledig fotomuseum met een rijke collectie fotografie die het mensbeeld vaak centraal stelt. In het Fotomuseum Den Haag worden elk jaar ongeveer zes tentoonstellingen georganiseerd over verschillende perioden, disciplines en genres van de fotogeschiedenis. Het museum heeft al vele gedenkwaardige tentoonstellingen gehad, waaronder tentoonstellingen van Man Ray, Emmy Andriesse, Sally Mann, Anton Corbijn, Erwin Olaf, Bieke Depoorter en Robin de Puy. Wanneer je ook gaat, je gaat er zeker iets bijzonders zien en ontdekken.

Het Fotomuseum is een van de musea die ik regelmatig bezoek. De tentoonstellingen zijn overwegend interessant tot goed. Tijdens mijn laatste bezoek een leuke tentoonstelling over klassenfoto's door de tijd. Van einde 19e eeuw tot onze tijd waarbij opviel hoe de strengheid in het klaslokaal van vroeger jaren al geruime tijd verdwenen is. Aan het eind van deze tentoonstelling nog een muur met klassenfoto's die deze ontwikkeling ook mooi laat zien In de 'kelder' van het fotomuseum een interessante tentoonstelling van XiaoXiao die langs de Lange Muur in China is gereisd en onderweg mooie foto's heeft gemaakt. Verder aardige foto's uit de koopcollectie van Simon Ophof die zijn collectie in 2022 aan het museum schonk. Daarbij ook moie krachtige beelden

Very nice museum. Even the style of the building itself is great. The pictures from the permanent collection are great. The actual modern art they are showing was not exactly my taste. If you have a museum card or combiticket you should go here.
