Lolapalooza — Restaurant in The Hague

I for sure won't come back because of the overall experience! Pros: Cakes were indeed quite good, the coffee was ok.

Also on the plus side: we got what we ordered! And she even offered by herself to split the apple juice in to glasses for our two kids.

Minus: ATMOSPHERE/COSTUMER FRIENLDYNESS We did the big "mistake" of not ordering everything we wanted from the beginning (I didn't know if the kids would like the cake and/or still be hungry after the first piece). So after a while I got an extra cake and "queued" (e.g. waited until she looked at me) at the bar and got the cake to our table next to the bar. We was already grumpy about that one.

Then the 1st kid finished the cake he shared with his sibling and wanted another one. So he queued. When it was his turn she asked "What do you want?" And since he needed more that 1 sec to answer, she skipped him saying "Oh, nothing, next one". (I was already almost next to him to help him with answering, but she had skipped him and not let me help out) Anyway, we waited together again to order extra cake nr.2. She replied super unfriendly: "But that was it for sure this time!"

It was soo rude, that when the other kiddo wanted a 2nd piece of cake, I didn't dare to order it despite him crying because he wanted a second like his brother!!! (He was promised and got something else somewhere else obviously)

We quickly finished up,...

Sat outside on the terrace (where another two ladies were sitting). The waitress came outside to bring the other two ladies their drinks and took my order. After waiting more than 30 minutes I still did not get what I ordered. Then the waitress came outside and told me she threw out my order that she had prepared inside because I never came inside to get it in a very condescending way. When I said I thought that was strange since she didn't tell me I had to do that she told me she was not allowed to serve drinks outside. Very odd situation since I was sitting at their terrace and she had brought outside the drinks of the other two ladies sitting next to me. Very strange, uncomfortable and negative experience....

I ordered a sandwich with cheese that cost around 8.5 euros, but what I received was dry bread with just a bit of cheese. When I asked the lady for some butter, she screamed, “Butter is expensive!” (not mentioning that the basic bread I ordered was also expensive, it was also factory bread, looked like cheap ah bread). Honestly, I think butter - or any sort of spread, like oil or bread spread - is a standard expectation for a sandwich 😂.

When I went to pay, she charged me an extra euro for the butter. After my visit, I read other reviews and saw that many people had similarly negative experiences with the staff there....
