Steck013 — Restaurant in Tilburg

While the food, drinks, and atmosphere were all great, I had a disappointing experience with one of the waitresses that left a negative impression.

We had ordered food and asked for tap water, but were told that it’s only available if we also order drinks. I found this policy quite illogical. On a hot day, I think anyone ordering food should be able to receive tap water, regardless of whether they order a separate drink.

Later, when a different waitress brought our food, we asked again for tap water, and she kindly gave it to us. However, after we finished eating, the first waitress returned and, in a rather condescending tone, told us we shouldn’t “try our chance” with another server after she had already said no. She told us to be “mindful” next time, which felt unnecessary and patronizing especially since we had just asked for water.

I also felt bad for the second waitress, who was only being helpful and polite. I hope she didn’t get into any trouble for simply accommodating a reasonable request.

Overall, this policy about tap water doesn’t make much sense, and the way it was enforced in this case was unpleasant. A small gesture like serving tap water, especially to paying customers, can make a big difference in the...

We went for evening dining at Steck013 and from the moment we made our reservation over the phone, we already had an amazing feeling. We initially opted for outdoor dining and later in the evening switched to indoor seating to enjoy a few drinks. The ambiance, both inside and outside, is cozy and inviting.

We ordered the spare ribs and pork tenderloin, both of which were amazingly delicious. The menu offers a wide range of options for both food and drinks. We started with a white beer and a Pinot Grigio.

The staff at Steck are very friendly and attentive, ensuring that all guests' needs are met. For dessert, we ordered the Affogato, which was the perfect sweet note to end our meal.

We had the caramel latte (super nice whipped cream on top of it), homemade apple pie, flammkuchen and the seasonal burger.

The flammkuchen felt sweet to me, probably due to the figs and balsamic vinegar.

The seasonal burger felt dry overall as the beef patty wasn't that juicy. The overall flavour is average/decent (nice truffle sauce). However, their fries are nice
