From the very first moment I walked into this restaurant, i knew I had discovered something special. The atmosphere immediately wraps around you with a sense of genuine warmth and hospitality. Let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. Each dish is meticulously prepared with clear attention to detail, balance, and flavor. You can truly taste the thought and love behind every bite. Just one star because I can't put zero. The service was simply catastrophic. To begin with, the waitress didn't translate the menu, so she asked us to trust her without telling us the price, which we finally accepted without being thrilled. After that, we waited about 40 minutes for our first plate to share for 4, worth 70€, with 6 small pieces of cheese, 3 slices of ham, 2 pieces of bread and a little pâté. Either way, we didn't know the prices, so we carried on and received our new plate 30 min later. A little more quantity but 100€ for this one. So they decided to offer us a coffee because with all the drinks and the 2 dishes we got 210€ euros and yet I don't feel like I ate for this price. I also had the impression that the waiters were clearly making fun of us, although I can understand them, they had just done their evening bonus. I really don't recommend a dishonest, long and obnoxious service, my worst...

De burgerij is een naam die in Tilburg steeds vaker genoemd wordt als leuk lunch adresje. In eerste plaats bekend vanwege de delicatesse zaak maar nu ook als brasserie aan de weg timmerend. We vonden het leuk om hier eens op zondag middag een hapje te gaan eten. Het terras aan de straat zijde ligt al in de schaduw. Bij binnen komst even wachten tot er iemand van de bediening komt. We mochten een tafeltje kiezen. Dit werd er een in de serre. Binnen is het gezellig ingericht, sfeertje dat doet denken aan een bruin café. We wilde graag de wijnkaart zien, deze was verrassend uitgebreid met veel wijnen per glas, prima. De Pinot Noir, die licht gekoeld lag, werd door de jonge dame geadviseerd. Deze paste het best bij de charcuterie plankjes, de specialiteit van het huis. We vonden het een goed idee.

De amuse was een klein stokbroodje met kruidenboter, bakje met grote gemarineerde groene olijven en een plankje met dunne plakjes droge worst. De kruidenboter was huisgemaakt en erg lekker.

Er was nog behoorlijk wat keuze in plateaus, van eenvoudig tot decadent. Wij kozen de gerenommeerde plank “Plateau Buitengewoon” die voor de chef wel eenvoudig te bereiden is. Wat ligt er allemaal op. Paaltjes Manchego met honingdip en poeder van koffie, een goede combinatie. Paaltjes comté met een dip van vijgenmosterd, die verrassend lekker was. Roquefort met uienchutney, erg smaakvol. Stukje brie de Meaux waartussen wat truffel marmelade, mooie kwaliteit. Blokje eenden mousse met cranberrycompote, mousse mooi hoog op smaak. Centraal een rucola salade met erop plakken vlees. Culatello, jambon de teruel, pastrami en golfetta salami, allemaal van top kwaliteit. Het geheel was afgewerkt met kleine augurkjes, zon gedroogde tomaatjes, noten, plakjes kastanje champignon en druifjes. Ernaast nog een bruin stokbroodje. Allemaal mooie producten die ook goed combineren met de geadviseerde wijn. (8)

Als afsluiter een mocca d’or, lekker geconcentreerd.

Bediening was goed, keurig wijn advies en goede gedetailleerde uitleg bij de plank.

Prijs-kwaliteitverhouding vond ik goed.
