I would recommend this place wholeheartedly - it is an amazing experience, albeit a bit too pricey for us to do often. The staff is very kind and polite, speaks Dutch/English/Chinese and can give an explanation of their concept before you get started. I personally love the concept of ordering on your phone and I think it's much nicer for staff/diners this way. The tofu options were amazingly tasty and probably my favourite part (I had the fried puffs & the fried skin rolls), although the customizable sauce you get to create for yourself is an amazing aspect too! I also ordered one of the blue bubble tea drinks which was another highlight. We had the tomato soup base and mushroom soup base and these were wonderful. The only thing I wouldn't get again was the veggie mix and the mushroom mix, I love mushrooms but these weren't my favourite - next time I would just order individual veggies that I know I love. Overall love the atmosphere and would highly...
Read moreEven though it's quite pricey at Hot&Hot Utrecht the quality of the service and the ingredients are okay. Don't come here with a super empty stomach though otherwise you might be paying a-lot but if you're casually want to have some fish-paste, beef slices, spicy chicken etc this is a pretty relaxing place to sit (it's clean and staff is friendly)
Tip: take the tomato broth only if you can't take the heat with spicy broths (i see lots of people taking the 2/3 broth options but then they say it's way too spicy). Tip2: They will charge automatically the dipping sauce which is like 2,50 per person. just look at the bill closely if you haven't made use of the sauce bar. For me personally the sauce bar can be perfectly omitted if you have the tomato broth.
we didn't try their bubble teas but it does look good from what i've seen from the tables next to us... we paid around 95 euro for 2 people which is fair for...
Read moreWe visited on a Sunday afternoon and were a bit concerned when we found the restaurant empty. However, our worries were unfounded as the restaurant was open, and we had a great experience.
The service was very friendly, and they explained everything clearly.
We ordered two broths: one spicy and one mild. The spicy broth might be the spiciest dish we've encountered in the Netherlands (though we didn't choose the maximum spiciness), and we were very satisfied. All the ingredients were excellent - very fresh and tasty. And, of course, the cooking process itself was a lot of fun. Each guest can also take unlimited different sauces (which costs 2.5 euros per person).
Make sure to order plenty of water, especially if you're having the spicy broth. And rice was a good addition too.
Overall, very delicious, very interesting, highly...
