Restaurant Olive — Restaurant in Utrecht

We went to Olive for dinner and ordered several tapas dishes: octopus, lamb chops, portobello, mussels, pie with chicken and spinach. We loved the octopus, portobello and mussels. The lamb chops were a bit overcooked unfortunately and the chicken in the pie was very dry. We also ordered a pita but somehow it was forgotten until we reminded them of it. We had baklava and creme brulee for dessert but both were just so-so. We also noticed there were differences in menu items and some of the pricing between the bill and what was on the website.

The ambiance of the restaurant was not very Mediterranean and some of the furniture looked like it needed some maintenance.

The waitress was very friendly and kind as opposed to the waiter, who dropped dirty cutlery on my lap while clearing the table and didn't even apologize for it.

Overall the food was OK and the service really depended on the person. Based on this experience, we probably won't be returning for...

We had a great experience. The food was delicious (especially the carpaccio), the sevice was friendly and very quick and we also had a great view. So when we had to pay, we gave them a generous tip. I made a photo of the receipt because I payed for me and my friend and needed to know how much I had to ask back from her. And to my shock, the next day I saw they added an extra Dame Blanche and a beer. We only had one dame blanche and definitely no beer. Maybe on accident, maybe not, but either way, I feel screwed over. They made €15 profit because of this. I still gave it two stars because the food was so good but the extra expenses messed it up. So if you're gonna eat here, and I would still recommend it, please check your receipt...

Werden vriendelijk ontvangen door jongeman. Ik had garnalen besteld die op de kaart als warm staan de garnalen waren koud hadden een vreemde structuur. Mijn zus had een spinazie taartje warm dat smaakte goed. Als hoofdgerecht had mijn zus varkenshaas medaillons besteld en ik ligging met kip en olijven. Tot onze verbazing kwamen ze met 2 x varkenshaas puntjes deze hadden we niet besteld dus die werden met commentaar van de serveerster terug naar de keuken gebracht nog een keer op gegeven wat we wilde en verassing kwamen ze met 2x varkenshaas medaillons. Aangegeven dat er maar 1x varkenshaas was besteld serveerster ging hierover met ons in discussie en behandelde ons of dat we 2 domme dames waren. Medaillons waren ook geen medaillons maar leken meer op varkenslapjes die ook nog droog waren. Al met al een teleurstellende ervaring. We hebben dat afgerekend wat we gegeten hadden en zijn vertrokken naar ander restaurant en hebben alsnog...
