Anafora Park Restaurant — Restaurant in Utrecht

We had our wedding here and I hope this review is helpful for other people if they are thinking to get married here. I live really close by and have seen this place which looked really pretty from outside and we decided to do our wedding celebration here. From the beginning of the communication with place was really hard. E-mailed them multiple times and called them and after couple of tries finally got a chance to get the appointment to see the inside and get some info. On the appointment I was not able to see the room because there was a meeting and we discussed the dates that fit to us and we wanted to have a cocktail in day time with brining our own food. If you want to bring your own food you pay around 12.5 euros per person for the plates and service and they have their own bar for the drinks with a hourly rate 6.5 per person. Wedding day: Our wedding was planned to start at 13:00 and we were there to check if everything is okay around 11:00 and there was only one girl preparing the room. The wedding was for 80 people and only 2 waitresses was given to us. What kind of logic is that? How could 2 waitresses can serve 80 people? At the end my friends were helping them with the serving because it was impossible to serve 80 people with 2 waitresses. This is unacceptable... Edit: I have been called by phone after this review and I have lowered my rating from two stars to one. The caller was a manager or something but I never had a talk with her before so I dont know her. She was telling me that you didnt have orange juice in package (which we disccussed before and agreed on orange juice), you didnt have those flowers in your package but we gave you more than that(which isnt true it was only what we agreed). Would not recommend choosing this place for a wedding location.

We booked a viewing of this venue for our wedding. As the wedding planner was on holiday, they booked the viewing in 2 weeks (which is a lot, especially if you have other offers pending). We arrived for the viewing at the same time as a different Dutch client, who was there for a viewing for a different event (not a wedding). We both waited until the wedding planner and another person (presumably also in charge of organisation) came down. They introduced themselves only to the Dutch client and left with them, leaving us behind waiting for... not sure what exactly, especially considering we had delayed our viewing because of that exact wedding planner who had ignored us. We waited around for 10 minutes without an explanation, only for someone who is not in charge of weddings to come down and literally do a speedrun with us around the venue. She said we would receive an offer within a day. It has now been a month and we have never received an offer. I am not sure if this says more about their bad communication and organisation (what kind of organisation happens on the wedding day itself then?), or whether they do not want internationals, or whether...

We visited this place for our anniversary lunch, hoping for a nice experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. When we arrived, there was no staff at the entrance, so we had to ask someone where our reservation table was. After waiting quite a while to place our order, we sat outside — but had to move inside due to wasps. Inside, the first table we chose had a broken couch, which i sat down on and nearly fell. So we finally settled at table 3.

The food was very disappointing. The kids’ menu turned out to be one type of dish — some burnt sticks with fries. The tandoori chicken was undercooked, the calamari oddly sweet (tasted exactly like poffertjes), and my salad was warm.

Then came the bathroom adventure. One was so dirty I had to switch, the next had no running water coming from the tap and the third had a broken flush button just sitting on top of the toilet. Not exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant.

All of this for a surprisingly large bill. Safe to say we won’t be...
