Goya Oriental — Restaurant in Veenendaal

Last night, we went to this restaurant to have Chinese New Year dinner, the restaurant order is different from other buffets, the main food only four choices, then other dishes. Only one main course and one dish can be selected at same time, and the interval between each order is eight minutes. We ordered five dishes and two main courses in the first round, five dishes in the second round. After four such orders, the waiter came to tell us that the time between orders was too close for the chef to make it, and that he wanted us to order again after the previous order had been taken away. It's strange that the restaurant wasn't even half full that night, and the chef was already too busy to cook for five? And the computer system says you can order every eight minutes, so why can't ？And we just order on time. We've been to a lot of buffets and restaurants like pad ordering, and we've never come a buffet restaurant that lets people not order so fast. Four adults and one child, cost 205 euros, service attitude and price is not proportional. We will not go to this restaurant again. We hope that those who want to go to this restaurant will eat slowly after going there, order more drinks and less food (drinks are not included in the buffet price), otherwise the waiter will come to remind...

This all you can eat concept is slightly different from the others in that you can order only 2 dishes per round. One of them has to be a side dish (rice, noodles, fries and a few other). Thus a visit to this restaurant can take a long time (there is no other time limit than closing time). Not ideal for a single visitor who tries to escape traffic. We hebben vandaag (2e pinksterdag) heerlijk gegeten. het restaurant was goed gevuld. wat al de eerste aanwijzing was van een lekkere en leuke avond uit. bij binnenkomst werden wij hartelijk ontvangen. wij hadden niet gereserveerd maar konden toch een plekje krijgen.. we konden zelfs kiezen of we buiten of binnen wilde zitten. we kozen voor buiten... het waait er wel iets maar we konden ook lekker van het zonnetje genieten. nadat wij lekker waren gaan zitten kwam één van de serveersters het concept aan ons uitleggen. heel duidelijk en concreet. De serveerster vergat de glazen mee te nemen voor ons eerste drankje maar bood netjes haar excuus aan en ging snel de glazen halen. we begonnen heerlijk aan ons 6 gangen diner. we hadden 5 kaarten maar konden er nog wat bij vragen om voort te zetten. de vlees- en visverechten en de soep waren snel bij de tafel en smaakte ook echt heerlijk! de presentatie was hier en daar een beetje rommelig. naar mate het later werd werd het iets kouder en wilde wij ons toetje binnen genieten. na overleg werd er een tafel voor ons klaar gemaakt en konden we binnen van het toetjes buffet genieten! het was heerlijk en het ijs was zo vol van smaak dat je echt merkt dat het echt vers is.

wat was het lekker en wat was de bediening snel en netjes! ook de dames die er nog niet zo lang werkte kwamen zelfverzekerd en professioneel over. als er kleedjes op het terras hadden gelegen hadden we niet naar binnen gehoeven en konden van de zon blijven genieten. en de presentatie mag af en toe iets beter vandaar...
