Yes, you could argue that a pancake is a pancake is a pancake. And yes, you could complain about the perceived lack of fantasy and choice, offering "just" pancakes.

You'd be wrong.

Because you wouldn't have thought just how many variants you can create from the basic concept. And here's all of them. And when we say 'all', we mean it. Choose from several hundred offerings of ingredients and toppings, one tastier than the other.

Combine this with attentive and friendly, multi-lingual staff, fast servings, a beautiful "submarine" interior decoration plus a small cinema and other playgrounds for smaller children, and you have 'de Pannekoekenbakker'.

Considering the acceptable pricing, this is the place to be in Oostkapelle, especially when you're into pancakes, when you have small...

If staying in Netherlands nobody wants to miss eating Pannekoeken. So do we and went in that lovely restaurant in Middelburg. I never saw before such a variety of different Pannekoeken. Sweet and salty, or you want a half and half Pannekoeken. Did anybody see before TexMex-Pannekoeken? I will try it next time. I was not brave enough, but it looked very good on the neighbor table. What I really appreciated was that apples or the jam in the Pannekoeken were really baked in and not just put on top. Really tasty. We stopped over for the second time. Pancakes are delicious with a very wide range of choices. Service orientation is at the max. without asking a German version of the menu card has been given. Staff is very attentive. Ambiente is cosy, everything is in a good shape. Everything is neat and clean. Pricing is okay. BUT: We hold back 1 star because of the inappropriate pricing of the desserts. We all had ice. The children ice with chocolate or strawberry sauce and smarties, the adults with salt caramel or rum raisins.
