Ristorante Pizzeria La Vita Bella — Restaurant in Veere

We were a party of seven and the place was crowded. The first impressions weren’t that great, partly because it takes more than Eros Ramazzotti and Laura Pausini songs to impress me. Also, the staff didn’t seem particularly experienced. One waitress told us they were full; another said they could seat us in 15 minutes and offered us a spot at the bar to wait. We agreed, and about two Eros Ramazzotti and one Laura Pausini hits later, we got a table.

Service wasn’t the fastest, but many more Laura Pausini and Eros Ramazzotti hits later, dinner was finally served. It is, of course, one of the oldest tricks in the book—basically starving the customer so they'll eat anything—but to be perfectly honest, we were pleasantly surprised: the food was simply great.

Sure, they do pizzas purists may frown upon like Hawaii, but then the beauty of pizza lies in its simplicity. That’s why the acid test for pizza is, of course, the plain and simple Margherita, which was one of the ones we ordered, and it was really well done.

The chicken pesto penne and the spaghetti carbonara were also delicious, so this place is getting two thumbs up—despite the musical noise pollution. I suspect the staff simply doesn’t notice it, just like residents living near an airport are known to stop hearing all the low-flying planes after a while.

We had Dinner yesterday at the Pizzeria and were lucky to sit outside. The service was very friendly but quite inexperienced- we showed the waitress how to open the wine bottle (and looking at other reviews we were not the first ones to do that). Service was quick but we also were there at eight thirty/nine. The starters: the carpaccio was dry, pre-cut, with no oil on it and not worth its price, the garlic bread was okay but a lot for a starter (it's like a whole Pizza). Nachtrag: Ende November 2022 haben wir es an einem Samstag erneut versucht, im la Vita Bella eine Pizza zu essen. Leider ist auch diesmal der Versuch gescheitert. Im Internet ausgewiesen war, dass der Laden bis 22:00 Uhr offen haben soll, sodass wir dachten, um 20:00 Uhr wäre alles problemlos. Wir mussten jedoch schon bei Betreten erfahren, dass zu diesem frühen Zeitpunkt die Küche schon geschlossen hatte. Stattdessen waren wir dann im Bistro Bram direkt neben an und waren äußerst zufrieden. Das La Vita Bella wird uns auf jeden Fall nicht mehr wiedersehen.

Meine Frau und ich haben dieses Lokal an einem Samstagabend gegen 19 Uhr aufgesucht. Leider wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass kein Tisch mehr frei sei und es nach 17:30 Uhr nicht möglich sei, eine Reservierung vorzunehmen. Auf unsere Frage, bis wann wir dennoch eine Pizza bekämen, wurde uns gesagt, dass dies bis 21:00 Uhr möglich sei. Wir sind daraufhin zunächst nach Hause gegangen und etwa gegen 20:30 Uhr zurückgekommen. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es leider keine Pizza mehr gäbe und wir lediglich noch Nudeln oder Salat bestellen könnten. Ich habe mich dann für eine Lasagne entschieden, die sich leider als mittelschwere Katastrophe herausstellte. Die Nudeln waren völlig zerkocht und erinnerten an ein Seniorenessen. Geschmacklich war das Essen fad und praktisch umgewürzt.

Das Schlimmste allerdings war, dass eine Pizzeria nicht in der Lage ist, während der Öffnungszeiten eine Pizza anzubieten. Richtig enttäuschend war für uns, dass an anderen Tischen noch Pizza serviert wurde. Man hat es nicht einmal für nötig gehalten, sich für dieses organisatorische Versagen zu...
