Brownies&downieS Wageningen — Restaurant in Wageningen

Good food, lovely ambiance, important initiative but quite unfortunate on the service and kindness of communication.

At the end of my meal (the last meal with my brother who I was visiting) and after having walked a little bit around to buy some small gifts to take back home, I sat back at the table and asked for a glass of tap water. At first, a bottle water was brought, then they tried to force the bottle on me, then they said I should buy bottled water because I have been sitting there for a long time and, finally, when I was given a glass of tap water it was warm.

Musy say, it sadly did not feel very welcoming for an place that, I guess, tries to promote inclusiveness. It also did not feel environmentally conscious to force bottled water in a town that hosts an University that works towards environmental sustainability.

But mostly, it's just water. Make a nice gesture. Give a smile and a glass of water. Does not take away anything but surely makes for a nicer and more welcoming day to all.
