Had a reservation at 19:45. Just after dinner rush we thought. upon arrival it was very hot inside almost suffocating. Really wanted some cooling drinks. The waiter took his time to come to our table. When he made the time to ask what we wanted to drink i was curious about the wine selection. My partner just ordered a cola. Since there was no drinking menu on the table i didn't know which wines the had, thus my question. Apparently he didnt have the time because he didn't even let us know he was going to grab the drinks or that he had even heard us. He simply walked away to ask another table how there food was.
Later on he did bring us drinks but only the cola my partner had asked for. Didn't even bother to ask me if i wanted something to drink too. We then ordered our food with an other employee. I had to ask her for something to drink since she didn't ask me.
We then waited for 35 minutes before we saw the female waitress again. She told us that our order wasn't sent to the kitchen and came to confirm our order again. Things like that happen but we expected it to be a priority since we were already waiting for 35 minutes. But no. The table next to us (who came in 30 minutes after us) got their food first. Which made us question what took our food so long. Then after 1 hour en 15 minutes our food was served on the table. The rice came 5 minutes later.
When the bill came the prices were higher than the ones on the menu. Masaman with chicken was supposed to be €18 but turned out to be €19,50. Same for the curry with duck. On the menu it was €22 and on the bill it was €24 euro's. Not to mention the wine of €6.25.
The food wasn't that bad aside from the chicken that had been cooked a bit too long but waiting so long really ruined our mood. I was looking forward to the sticky rice and mango since i really like that, but we did not want to wait another 30 minutes just for dessert. So we got some ice cream from a snackbar a few blocks down. That ice cream was the highlight of...
Read moreLet's start by stating that the owner tried to convince us 4 times to exchange the food, he even went as far to try and make my husband's plate. I literally had to tell him: "leave it". We didn't have time to start the dinner over, and since his response to all of our feedback was excuses we felt that it wouldn't have made a difference.
The food: terrible, beef marinated way too long then cooked in what I guess must have been water, it was insanely tender but flavourless and gave the impression it was pre-chewed. Pork: was so dry one could fix a shoe sole with it. Vegetables: leek and beans were raw.. Literally raw, the rest of the vegetables were okay, crazy large chunks of onion aside. The rice was lukewarm and even cold in some places with dehydrated chunks combined with overcooked sticking chunks, according to the owner it is all cooked long in the rice cooker... Yeah. Duh. Learn how to cook something fresh.
Service: the waitress seems to have such severe OCD that she literally hung over me and the table to move back a bowl of rice that I had moved to the left side of the table. She didn't ask if zero was okay instead of cola light. She didn't ask for side dishes. She publicly humiliated a co-worker out loud.
All with all a horrid experience, the owner didn't bill us in the end. But I personally feel that might be solely due to fear of loss of face. Instead of being so focused on what people think, just simple make good food. It's really not that hard, just stop relying on stupid tricks and cook fresh....
Read moreBeen coming for years. Chefs are obviously very talented. But sadly I see I am just joining the list of many here in highlighting - the service is abominable! We waited two hours for our food despite ordering well before the evening rush began. We had to fight to get the table we wanted despite having reserved. The waitress complained to us that we were taking too much of her time !?! We were dumb struck. The saddest part was seeing all the other guests who perhaps did not have the tenacity to complain sit for hours on their phones in order to suppress their upset. Even simple things like a matredee to meet us at the door were absent. It's such a beautiful restaurant with great food in an area with few other options - this could be a thriving business - but if they cannot get customers in and out of the door in under three hours, causing them to leave disappointed at that, this place must be hemorrhaging cash.... I will be taking this up...
