Long story short: Food 3.5-5 Service 2-5
The long story: I came here alone to get a bowl of Pho. When I checked the menu and saw they had Bha Mi I decided I wanted one of those as well to take home.
When I arrived at the restaurant it was quite busy so I was told to wait, which of course is no problem. I'm only happy to see they're doing well. But after me, a couple of couples arrived and when a table became available the couple that came after me was seated first and I was told to wait a little longer. Then when the next table became available he seated another couple first, and then seated me.
While I was waiting for a table someone took my order so when I would have a table the food would come very quickly, clever. I ordered a bowl of Pho, a drink, and the sandwich to take home afterwards.
So when I was finally seated I got my bowl of pho, but my drink wasn't coming so I had to ask for it which was quite annoying.
When I was done eating (I had already paid while I was waiting) I still hadn't received my sandwich so I went to the counter to ask. As soon as he saw me he said "Ah so and now the Bha Mi, right?" I thought I had already ordered an paid for it but apparently not. So I paid again, but this time for the sandwich, but it also meant I had to wait AGAIN for my order. While I was waiting outside for like 10 minutes the guy comes to me to ask for a confirmation of my order, "You ordered the sandwich, right?". Then around 5 minutes later my sandwich, which I ordered around an hour ago finally came. It was quite smaller than I saw on the picture in their website but at this point I couldn't bother anymore.
I have to note here that it was quite busy and that there was a note on the window saying they were looking for staff so I will take it all with a grain of salt. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that the service was terrible.
The prices are quite low, but the food isn't amazing either. The pho as well as the sandwich were quite sweet...
Read moreMy son went to hospital after eating at Xin Chao. We are recurred customers for this restaurant for 5 years and unfortunately today was the last time we would go there. We confirmed with the restaurant regarding allergies before we order (my son has food allergies and we do this everytime by any eat outside)but allergies still happened after that they confirmed our order is safe.
They don't know what they are serving, which is really life-dangerous for the customers visiting them. My son suffered all the Sunday after lunch, took medication, went to huisarts post, took injection, transported by ambulance to hospital, stayed at hospital for 5 hours. Finally we got home exhausted after all. And the kid really suffered by all the reactions from the food allergies.
Again, they don't know what they are serving which could be life-dangerous to the visitors. They told me after that the recipe of the bread was changed, but come on, adding nuts to bread could kill people who has allergies. And you don't have this common sense - still confirming our order was safe when we clearly mentioning the allergies of nuts!
You lose an old customer but all in all you have no sense of...
Read moreI had lunch here, for under €10,-! I can't really remember the name of the dish, but it was some kind of soup. The meat in it was wonderfully tender, I loved it. Pretty fun to have something traditional from another country. The waitress was also really helpful in showing what spices and sauces where best for my dish, I wouldn't have been able to make sense of them myself I guess. I dare you to eat with chopsticks for the full experience! Also, for students or other people reading books, this is also a good place to read a book after lunch.. especially on Monday when the whole city is closed. I saw multiple people just reading. Please beware of the dangers of reading and eating with chopsticks at the same time, multitasking is a...
