The place was really busy when we arrived that we were told it would be a 40 minute wait for orders. They don't seem to have combo meals so you just order each item individually. We were already there so we put an order through and went for a walk. There were a few seats inside but it was mostly for waiting as everyone took it away. You also had an option of getting your fish pan fried instead of deep fried. They also sell fresh fish if you prefer to cook it at home. The fish was quite nice. It was juicy and nicely cooked. The chips weren't bad since they had a nice crispness. I also did like their corn fritter. The paua fritter was on the salty side for me. The potato fritters were ok but really thin. The food here is quite nice but it is also pricier than other fish and chip places. It would be a good idea to pre-order so that you don't have to wait too long to get some tasty...
Read moreit was 30 odd years ago whilst installing a kitchen and fiitings in a new build opposite KOHI FISH & TAKEAWAYS, yesterday 23/8/24 I re visited to buy my granddaughter from Melbourne some lunch to have in the sun on KOHI beach! LO and BEHOLD there was dear Pauline the Wonderful owner still there, how fabulous to speak to her again! We chose our fillets from the fridge window display Hayley had snapper, I prefer gurnard she cooked it beautifully and wrapped with chips (wonderful) sold us dipping tomato sauce and off we went to eat this carefully prepared delicious food!

That way I could pretend I was paying $30 to eat fiah n chips in a restaurant but for a megre $8 at this cool little takeaway. The fish was great. It tasted fresh as it should and wasnt over cooked. The chips were excellent and the ladies inside were very friendly The bus from the city stops more or less outside this place so if you want to go swimming at mission bay and walk around to kohi or skip the crowd at mission bay and go straight to kohi grab your meal here and eat it...
