Don’t order online because even though you have to select a pickup time they’ll just make it a lot earlier if they can. I arrived 8 minutes before the pickup slot and the food had been sitting around for ages. We had to microwave everything when I got home with our order. Burger buns and lettuce in the microwave don’t go well together so the food was very disappointing. When I walked in 8 minutes early on a Sunday night there were no customers and the staff were sitting at one of the tables so I’m sure they had just made the food when the order popped up. It was my first time trying Downlow but my husband had it before and thought the food turned up cold previously because of it being an Uber eats order but now we know it doesn’t make any difference. Stopped by this evening with my son for a cheeseburger and fries, and we were genuinely impressed by the hospitality. Even though it was a busy Friday night, the staff were warm, professional, and upfront about the short wait time. The restaurant had a great energy—efficient, well-organised, and welcoming.

We took a quick stroll on the beach while waiting, and when we returned, our food was ready, fresh, and hot. The team checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, even offering a little something extra to make our experience even better. Very disappointed. First time I've been to Downlow and I was very much looking forward to it. Very quiet night, not many customers, but it took over 45 minutes to get out burgers. It seemed like the Uber Eats customers were massively prioritized over us, which was a shame. I'd think you'd prioritize the walk in customers. Anyway...burger was good. Loaded fries were yummy, but I had to eat it with my fingers - no fork. We ordered six burgers , 4 kids' meals, drinks, and kids' meals.
